Here is what i've been observing for some time about the "race replica street bike of today competing in wsbk".

I know Ducati threatened to leave the World Superbike championship before the 2008 season if the displacement cap for twins wasn't lifted.

Well, the FIM did.........to 1200cc.

So Ducati came out with the 1098. So in 2006 Ducati released the 1098. With 2 more years before 08. The 999 F06 and F07 were left to contest the series.

Now that the 2008 season is at it's 4th round, /Ducati bikes have won 5/6 races. Only "Nitro" Nori Haga has been table to win with a Non 1098cc Ducati. Granted Lorenzo Lanzi won round one at Valencia because of this \/. But we are still 5/6 for the 1098!

KTM's RC8 is at 1148cc respectively and they are already running a bike in the Superstock liter class.

MCN reported yesterday "they've made up since"

My question is, if Ducati has a walkover this year (I think they will),
will we see the return of the Suzuki GSX-R-1100 and a K-Wack ZX-11? Will we also see the start up of a new set of bikes such as the CBR1100RR?

Let's not forget that just last week BMW finally revealed their Inline 4 S1000RR for the 09 season. Sad they will only make 1000 bikes to suit homoligations.

Aprilia has the RSV 4 (V4 engine)

Rumors also say that Honda is working on a 1000cc V4.

Imagine a RVF1000 bike for 2009.

I'll be honest, i miss the 750cc bikes. But speed has to go up and will to get that......so does displacement.

What do you guys think about the possibility that the CBR1000RR, the GSX-R1000, R1, and the ZX-10 might raise displacement?

i thought part of the deal with the raised displacement for twins was that they were going to adjust the air restrictors for both side to keep thing competitive?
