I find it Better to gear down to switch direction then gear straight back up

Yep, work the brakes, throw the wheel around, shift down, then back on the gas through he corner.

thanks for all the responses guys nice to see there is a nice friendly community here :D.

From the nice car that K1ng built with a tune on it and from all the answers from this post i have got use to the physics of this game from forza, i think it was too do a little of the car tuning i was doing but i would say it was mostly me trying to drift like forza (so it my driver error :-( ) but i have been running non stop and feels fun now.

so thank you all and hope to see some of you guys in some lobbies. thanks again.

Forza
is more arcade than race driver grid lmao

Care to explain how Race driver grid fits into this? I had said that Forza, although it may not be as great a sim as GT5, I wouldnt class it as Arcade as it does some sim things better than GT5 (Damage, tuning, tyre model etc). Being as I havent played Grid, I am unable to disagree with your statement even though it doesnt fit with the discussion at hand..

I admit to using a CH/CM tire setup, however i am still in amateur mode, just figuring out the whole controlled acceleration through the turn pattern. i can say i am not comfortable drifting with CS, and when i have used a CH/CH tire set i get a better and more attractive angle without much play, using a rotate on axis theory, Like I said im still learning so please dont't take my opinion as a point of fact on my part.
