Well I've been using a similar technique (pardon if it's misspell) with a Mazda Atenza and boy does it have a wicked acceleration, I default the tranny lower the final around 3.150 - 3.350 and then decrease the top speed depending on the track and then raise or lower the final accordingly and it's awesome, good results I must say.

i'm not near my ps3 now so i can't give ratio's . but i think i have it pretty much figured out.

i played with the final gear before i flipped it so i got the same top speed i normally would except now i have (after the flip) the final all the way to the left like you guys said.

i have 1st gear set up for a rolling start and quick shift into 2nd, same with hairpins.

super super tight gearing.. the mph increase never faults when i change gears. and i raced a few guys with the same car and noticed mine shifted faster.

with everything combined i have done, i feel like i am bringing an Audi to the 24 of Le mans, and everyone else will be in an LMP2
