Does anyone know what 60s-70s cars are premium?

Currently I'm not on GT5 but I would appreciate it if anyone knows this because I'm struggling at the Japanese classics race and the European classics. I bought standard 'classics' because they were cheap and were all I could find, but they're extremely limited in horse power. The A.I. keeps on thrashing me by a good 7 seconds. On the straights, I barely hit 100mph while they hit 130+

dude, your lucky. at least you have a Japanese classic in your used dealership to buy.. im still waiting for one to pop up. I have been playing Special Races then checking the used dealership.. wash and repeat, i am collecting a hell of alot of money while i wait though..... Also, i dont believe there is any Premium classic Japanese car you can purchase.. i would love to be proven wrong though

Theres a Lambo? The old.. eh.. Miura? Don't know how to get it and what it costs, but... it can compete in a few races. Don't know if can even be bought, but its premium as far as I know)!

Mercedes SL300 (same car as used in the Mercedes AMG driving academy)

I have no idea about Japanese cars. but i know theres a couple of Skylines. Don't think they're premiums though...
As for Americans, theres a Corvette and a Camaro

I think the game awarded me prize cars which were meant to be used for these kind of events.

I immediately sold them.

Heh.

I won't try to make that same mistake again!

I'm still waiting for some pre '79 Japanese Classics to appear in my used car lot also. I that I see right now is a '58 Subaru 360 with 15HP. Yea, like I'll be wining races with that! :(

How often does the used car list change? Too bad that the used car lot wasn't divided into modern and classics like GT4 was.

Ha! i made the mistake on pulling the trigger on that horrible Subaru, after 30,000 dollars worth of mods it was still horrible. The car list changes frequently, i ended up getting i believe a Nissan Fairlady. dumped a bunch of money into her and then proceeded to roll the competition. I think its a little unfair (or can make the game easier) that If I have a bunch of money to spend on the car I can pretty much dominate the competition.. on the other hand thats exactly how real racing is.. hrmm

same problem here.

however a question, can you to the same race many times to get money? i tried it with special events but you can't do it.

Yes you can. But you don't get the prize car again.

For the Japanese classics, I eventually bought a Nissan Skyline 2000GT. There was 2 in there when I bought it.

Used an Elan S1 for European although I only got 3rd on Madrid Mini. Now I'm using a 384bhp Jensen Healey Interceptor MkIII. :D I also found a few Alfas which are worth considering.

Wowwwww, you spent 30K GT5 credits on a Subaru 360 modding it?? Damnnnnn you shoulda fished for a 240HG or 280 Z, Hakosuka....

Seen the Alfa Giulia(amazing car 130hp less than 700kg FR) in used cars was something like 100k tufff.

For the money a tuned Lotus Elan S1 will smoke anything it just needs stiffer suspension and a bit more power, but its already light and handles amazingly.

I was lucky with the Japanese Classics, bought Mitsubishi Lancer 1600 GSR Rally Car 1974, changed oil and added turbo stage 1. This car is unbelievable I beat the JC and then tried my luck with FR Challenge, and smoked everyone over there too. I was suprised how good it is. I would recommend buying this one, of course if you can see it in the Used Car dealership.

At the moment I'm having trouble of finding the European Classics in the Used Car Dealership. It's a bit annoying, cause i saw one EU classics car when i was buying that Lancer 1600, but I thought that i'm gonna see much more after the event and I was wrong. It's funny how it works, always when you need something you can't find it anywhere, well eventually after some time but, come on 2 hours is not enough for Used Car Dealership to bring more classics? :-P

Usually you can look at the Cars you're Racing against, from there see if you have the best one of the list in your Garage, from there see if there are any posts for it (tunes), get some Race Medium Tires (my faves) and let er rip. You should be able to be ok with Cars like the older Skylines - those Cars usually have won me quite a few Races.
