I believed I asked some of these question before, 2 y.o. in a thread. A lot off people answered these question only with "yes" and "no". It was my intention to get more detailed answers. So I've decided to create a thread and ask these questions again, in the hope that I get more than just "yes" and "no".

From first question to last:

1. Yep i have made HEAPS of friends. After playing online games over Ps2 etc. i made tonnes more and got a few people to join GTP as well. GTP is great for making e-friends

2. Yes there are few people's posts which i like to read everytime i see them. Not specific people but just a few who always make a good post

3. Not really. All the members make great posts and im to hoping to see a specific member all the time.

4. Not really. Only if we talk over MSN i'd get a bit personal but other than that, no.

5. Id definately like to meet certain members, but they are often in other countrys and like 5 years older than me

6. Yep i do PM and IM people all the time. I usually do talk to my friends IRL on MSN, mostly only for e-friends.

7. Respect yes. Jealous, not really.

8. No member gets me on my nerves really.

9. I always hope to get an answer, and i always do

10. No ones ever really given me a compliment so i cant really say.

There are many GTP members I respect. I cant see how you can be jealous over anyone on the internet.

Nah, i find people with stupid posts funny. If there were people around which made me I think: 'what the heck did he or she write down this time.' They probably would be banned pretty quickly for poor/offensive posts...

Sometimes, depends on what Im asking...

Yes about the quality poster, ...kind of with the compliment bit. Its really if their a nice person. Anyone can give you a compliment but it doesn't make them a nice person. Thats the reason I would like a certain member, if they were genuinely nice.


11. Do you read the posts of your fellow countryman more than the posts from a "foreigner?

Not really but I find it interesting to see different responses from people from different countries or how someone from another country views us etc...

Yes, there's a couple dozen that I almost always read, even if I don't have anything to contribute to the thread (or care much for the thread).

While there's a number of members I respect, I'm not jealous of anyone else. Jealousy is a childish trait.

There's very few, and even less recently. Sometimes I wish I had banning privileges, but it usually sorts itself out.

Yes,definitely. I made a few friends such as Turbo Lag, Diablo', LdS, SimmiS, Stunt Drifter, under18carbon and a few others. All never met in real life (or in person anyways...)

Yes actually. I just look at what interesting topics did they write. Especially Touring Mars and JohnBM01

From what I am understanding of this question, shouldn’t it be: Would you like to meet certain members?” If is this the interpretation of it, I think yes, I would like to meet certain GTP members.

Not really. I normally P.M. people just to ask something that I don’t know and would like to know.

Yes. Normally those are members that don’t speak to well to the new guys, just because they are here for some time. I also can’t stand those that regist in GTP just to make confusion, but there weren’t to many of those cases (I think) and normally they get banned before you know it.

Some posts I hope to get an answer, others not, and are rare the posts that I expect a certain member to answer it, but there are cases.

I never got compliments here, but I really appreciate and never forget help and members helping me with various stuff instead of making compliments to me.

- Yeah, I mean I've met Ash (Allianz) and Sue (Bite Me) last year, as for people I havent met, I feel most of the forum is my friends, I don't have anything wrong with anyone.

Sure, why not? Most of us get along, and some of you guys have much more experience with certain things by comparison to me, where I may have more of it than others. Only Doug's awesomeness makes me jealous...

I usually like the "furiner" posts just because they've got a completely different perspective than I do. That, IMO, is always worth reading moreso than the American opinions that will (likely) be the same, on occasion.

There are those who I would consider myself closer to than others, but I wouldn't say I am really good friends with anybody.

I try to read everything, but there are some people I will skip if the post is really long and the discussion has gotten too far along to jump into.

I have kinda gotten to know when a lot of members are online, and I really have no hopes of being online at the same time as people from other parts of the globe.

I will try to figure out who a member that has changed their name, but really nothing beyond that.

* Would you like to meet certain members?

A few members I think it would be cool to meet, but I wouldn't necessarily be destroyed if I never saw them in person.

* Do you have personal contact through messages with members, just because you think they're interesting.

I have been here for a year and have yet to clear my PM box. Neither do I know any outside contacts for anybody. I guess that explains that...

There are a lot of members that I have a lot of respect for. The red premium titles make me respect that user quite a bit but I have a lot of respect for the other regulars. Jealousy? I might be jealous if another member gets a really sweet car, but once I leave that thread, I get over it pretty quick.

* Are there members you can't stand and of whom you sometimes think: what the heck did he or she write down this time.

I get pretty annoyed when new members revive old threads with pointless posts or create a pointless thread. If that member sticks around and shapes up, I gain a lot more respect for them.

If I am talking "to" a specific member, yes. Other than that, it really doesn't matter. No reply is a little disappointing though.

That's not what will make me like a member. Quality posters just get a lot more respect.

I try to read everything, but when I am in a hurry or there are a lot of long, complicated posts, I will generally read the most recent ones. In my case, those were usually posted by users in the US.

Yes, I would consider a few people on here as friends and have privately asked for help or opinions on certain matters via pm in the past. I haven't met anyone on here irl though.

Yes to a degree, there are certain members who I'll read even if the subject isn't something I'm too bothered with replying to myself. If it's a subject I an not interested in at all, then I probably won't though.

Depending on the post then certainly. A well thought out reply from a respected member is a good thing imo.

Not neccecarily, seeing that I read just about every post in a thread 90% of the time. I don't intentionally ignore any posts either, unless they're extremely long and regarding a subject I know nothing about. I'm hardly likely to read a 800 word essay on Tourist Trophy when I've never played it, for example.

Eh, not really. I check profiles from time to time because I've forgotten their age or want to know their first name or something, but other than that not really.

Only if it's directly replying to them. I might expect a certain person to reply if I was asking about a specific subject though (ie if I'm asking about a Mac it'd be nice if Sage responded).

I've only met people from here at UKGTP7, although had I not attended, I'm quite sure I would've met someone or other by now.

Yes and no. I always read some member's posts because they just say the stupidest things... and I like a good laugh as well as sharing the quote with others.

That's a tough one. Sometimes someone makes a decent post and for a second you respect them, but then they make some stupid comment and you just point and laugh. However, consistent good posts that I agree with will most likely get me PM'ing the person and asking if they have msn, and so on.

Spaniards? On GTP? I sometimes read posts from die-hard Americans in the Opinions Forum just to laugh at their delusions, but that's about it.

2. Not really. I read everyone's posts. But some posts I pay more attention to than others, for example JohnBM01 is one member I pay attention to.

3. Yes, especially The Vanishing Boy, because that means he might have the GT5 Car Wishlist 5.0 done! Jim Prower too, for his Track Wishlist.

4. No, I consider anything members don't say in posts to be their private information. I respect people's privacy.

5. Um, maybe a few people like racerx510, but not really. I'm content with knowing them on GTP.

6. Every once and a while me and racerx510 will fire off a conversation lasting 10-15 minutes, but most of the time I don't PM that much.

7. I respect a lot of members like JohnBM01 and the moderators, but I'm not jealous of any of them. Except for sometimes when I wish I was a moderator so I could break up arguments and such, but mostly no envy.

8. No. I'm not that kind of person, and there's nothing really to dislike about anyone here. Most of the spammers/advertisers I never see.

9. Mostly I just hope to get a postive response, or any response at all. I'm not choosy.

10. Yes, like the one time (that I know of) that I've gotten a +rep, I'll always remember that.

11. Frankly, I don't know who's American and who's not (except Famine and daan), but also frankly, I don't really care where someone's from.

1 Yes, I’ve made plenty of friends at GTP.
2 I don’t search out certain people’s posts, but if I happen upon their posts, then yes, I will inevitably read them.
3 No, it doesn’t really matter if someone is online at the same time as me – I only worry about that when IMing.
4 Yes, I’ll look up info on people, especially if I want to contact them via IM or Facebook.
5 There are a whole raft of people I’d like to meet from GTP.
6 I have IM/Facebook contacts for about a dozen GTP members.
7 I have plenty of respect for lots of members here, but no jealousy. For example, I’m not jealous of Doug’s slushbox. Or Jack’s chicken legs. Or Swift’s MBP. (Okay, maybe a little on that last one.)
8 As a moderator who has to deal with issues almost daily, there are plenty of times when I think that there are people who are using too much oxygen.
9 No, I don’t usually expect certain people to reply to my posts, unless of course my posts are directed at them.
10 I like certain members if they’re good people.
