Questions about the Ps2 system itself

Today, I movied my Ps2 to the floor, which has carpeting...I would just like to know if its safe for the Ps2 and so it wont overheat.

And another...

If I got my Ps2 on chirstmas 2002, Does that mean that it's 3rd or 4th gen?

I wouldn't think it would make a difference. As long as it's not right up next to a wall, you shouldn't have a problem.

As for your PS2, you'd have to look at all of the different models on the Playstation site, or there might have been a thread about it a while ago.
