Every time i check the news page hoping to see some news about Gran Turismo itself, or even some DLC incoming i get surprised with totally off-topic posts GT Academy drivers, real racing and iPhone apps.

Am I the only one tired of seeing this? I'm not saying is bad all I'm saying is when i come to a Gran Turismo site i expect to see news about the game itself.

If you guys need suggestions what to post, why not make member's spotlight, reviews about cars, etc etc.

Well is just my opinion tho.
 
The GT Academy is a spin off from the success of the series, so it needs to be reported somewhere. Pretty much anything GT related gets a report, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, in my opinion.
 
Well there is nothing going on in the GT5 world anymore so I figured they have to post about something.
 
There's a few articles about what we could see in GT6, too.

This is a Gran Turismo related website, but it's far from an official site.

Typically when there's news that's important enough to post, it'll be posted. Right now there is no news, so other things get posted. (which are far from off topic anyway) GT Academy finals have happened and/or are happening (USA) so that's what you see.
 
I've moved this to Site Support, which is the traditional area for GTPlanet discussions and suggestions.

And I agree, a member spotlight might be of interest...then again, we do allow for nearly any discussion within our forum, so perhaps its purpose is for Gran Turismo news, more than anything else, since that's what the casual user and searcher is looking for.

We're a Gran Turismo website. We report Gran Turismo news in the news section.

GT Academy drivers = Gran Turismo news.
Real racing, involving GT Academy drivers = Gran Turismo news.
Real racing, involving the creator of Gran Turismo = Gran Turismo news.
iPhone apps, about getting more out of Gran Turismo = Gran Turismo news.

We can't report news about Gran Turismo 5, when there isn't any - but you'll notice we've covered new seasonal events from GT5, new versions of GT5 (GT XL, GT Academy Edition), new cars supposed to be in GT5 (Pebble Beach, Hyundai Veloster and Genesis) and GT6 teaser news in the last two weeks. The least GT-related thing we've done in August is my Wheel Stand Pro v2 review!

Forum member profiles and car reviews are very much forum - or community - things, rather than news.

It would only be a something of problem if major GT5/6 news was being buried under swathes of Academy news but this isn't the case. Not interested in Academy News ? Don't read it, it's not as if GT5/6 news is being suppressed.

Personally, I'm not a fan of member reviews etc in the news feed, that's not "news" at all and stuff like that already exists in the forums. Unless it was a review about a new car/track/product then fair enough maybe.

+1 for it all. Nothing's buried.
I'm not much interested in the Academy stuff... But I don't feel like anybody's forcing it on me. :lol:
