I've received a few questions lately about this series (good ones too) and it's obvious that some of you are a bit confused as to what's happening.

So I started this thread to find out if you are happy with how things are going, or if you're a bit confused or what-not.

Sure. I can answer that here - as soon as I receive 20 registrations, I'll put up a thread which will give the details you stated above, ie driver name / qualifying time / tranny.

From the schedule thread, it looks like we're running some long races, yet the original post says that the races will be run in arcade mode. How's that going to work? Are we writing down lap times, then adding them up or what?

No, no - you run the races in Free Run. You know from experience that you can do as many laps as you like in Free Run.

How are we going to deal with the issue of DNF's / people who couldn't race. Having only one day to run such a long race is going to make it tough to run every week. These aren't races you can throw down in half an hour. I know I can't spend every sunday running these races (Every other sunday or so is an F1 Race, and I always try to catch those). Is it possible to allocate a few more days to running the final race? Why only wednesday to sunday?

Hmmmmm, yes - I can see your problem. Allow me to think about this, and I'll come up with a solution to this problem.

I can see a few issues to the effect of, "I may not be able to race on Sunday, due to...", so I went back to the main thread and changed it - concentrate on the sentence highlighted in red.

I can run laps like silly, but Free Run Mode doesn't keep track of total time, only individual lap times :irked:

And it will only let you save best lap (i.e. single lap) replays.

Only Arcade or Simulation *Races* keep track of total time.

We won't have any way of submitting a total time for the race (or of verifying results via screenshot or replay) short of writing down each lap time, then adding them up :confused:

im still confuse about the online racing....

what actually i need to enter the racing??

a psx cd run on pc emulator?or pc version of gt2??what is the prize of winning the contest...

Are you the guy I PMed?

No, Online Racing means getting the best time you can on GT (on the PS2, not an emulator or what have you) and comparing it to other GT racers from around here.

Say you got a 1'13.574 at Grand Valley. Well, you record that time then compare it to someone else's. Simple.

Save your replay. Then if you go to the main menu, and choose Replay Theatre > Load Replay you can see the Total Replay time or if you really want, you can watch the replay.

Well, most people are honest enough to submit a legitimate time.

If you really need to give evidence you can buy an X-Port or Sharkport, that allows you to upload your replay files to your PC, then people can view your replay and verify it.

man...its hard to find shark port or x-port in my country...i mean im in malaysia..so the percent to get the accesories is 10 % ...buy online ?nah forget it..i dont have those credit card :banghead:

If you want to record a time, it's simple enough - just write it down on a bit of paper then copy it onto GTP.

Do you have a replay cyberskater? Are you using pal or ntsc? Probably possible but faster than any other AT time I've seen. Just checking.

You said T1, T2, T3, but not all of them together :confused:

Does "all of them together" mean the lap time? (I think this is what you mean)

Or, does it mean all of them in the same post?

Sorry. You can discuss these:
T1 and T2;
T1 and T3;
T2 and T3.

You can't discuss all of your intermediate times because then people will know what sort of lap you're achieving.
