Hello Gran Turismo world!

I need your help once again after a while! I have couple of questions and I would be very grateful if you reply to all of them! Thank you! (also did a search and didnt find any answer for this!).

1. Is G27 price only getting higher?
Because year ago it was cheaper, now it seems it is more unique and people ask for more money!
I want to sell my G27 so I can upgrade to G29 for my PS4! Seems I dont have a choice! but is now the best time to sell it?

2. Is G29 worth a buy?
Or I should consider buying different brand like Thrustmaster and Fanatec? Im really used to G27, but the support is slap in the face for gamers, thats the only reason Im considering other wheels!

3. Will G27 ever to be supported on PS4?
Is it really some sort of USB or security chip problem or do they just make money on us?

4. Question for G29 owners on PC and PS4! Is it fully supported? what problems does it have!?

Happy New Year! ;)

1. Looking at Amazon it does seem they are being sold at a higher price.

2. Not sure, I was deciding between the 3 a few months back and went with the T300rs because of 1. Ps4 support 2. Smoother force feedback. As far as I know the fanatec wheels have limited ps4 support where as I think both g29 and thrustmaster wheels are licensed with Sony.

3. You may want to look at this thread.

4. No idea, you may want to look in the g29 thread to see if anyone has problems with it.

G29 is a better wheel than the G27.
Not significantly so, but there are small upgrades everywhere.
Probably the main improvement from a reliability standpoint is the change from an optical encoder to a hall-effect sensor in the wheel.
I would not consider replacing a G27 with a G29 though.

The G27 will never have official PS4 support, though there may be third-party adapters.

The downside to the G29 is price. The G27 was discontinued quite some time ago, and so its price dropped a lot.
The G29 being a newer wheel currently sells for a higher price - though its price is actually lower than the G27's original price.

I recently bought a G29 and then swapped it for a T300 RS due to problems with the G29 shifter - I either received two faulty shifters, or the base was faulty.
I don't think that says anything about the reliability of Logitech products, just bad luck on my part.

The G29 is the better package as a whole.
It feels more complete, since you get a decent three-pedal set, an inexpensive shifter (it was all bundled together for me) and a wheel with a lot of function buttons and RPM LEDs on it.
If you just want to make a single purchase, I might recommend the G29.

The T300 RS is a far more basic package.
For the same money as the G29 kit, you get a cheap-feeling rubber rim, a cheap-feeling two pedal set, and the base.
But that base is so much better than the Logitech base. The feedback is a lot stronger, smoother, quieter, and better at delivering small feedback changes.
And the T300 RS is a great starting point to build up a rig around.
You can replace the rim, you can buy a three-pedal set, and you can add a shifter to it.
I don't know about playing on PS4, but on PC you have the option of buying non-Thrustmaster parts for those as well. Maybe I want a Fanatec shifter and set of pedals instead of the Thrustmaster ones for example.

Check this post for my full comparison between the two.

I think the Thrustmaster is better than the Logitech. I don't trust Fanatec at all.

You can't change that the Logitech G29 uses an older gear driven FFB system that works well, but it is loud and twichy.

Even if you do need to upgrade the pedals, the T300RS is a better wheel base, and the option to easily change rims is awesome.

I loved my G27, and actually do miss it sometimes, but I don't regret having switched it out for my T500RS.

The T500 works as a wheel with the PS4, it just doesn't have full menu function, but the PS4 comes with a controller that will do that for you obviously.

Pricewise, BestBuy Canada has the G27 on for $CDN229.99 which is what I paid for it 3 years ago and I thought it was a bargain back then. They also price match so when it goes back up to it's regular $299 they'll match any Canadian price including the internet.

Up until a few months back I would've said the T500RS but since this isn't supported by the PS4. I'm not sure
Official support statement on T500 and PS4 is here: http://ts.thrustmaster.com/eng/index.php?pg=view_files&gid=3&fid=15&pid=317&cid=12

Almost all racing games announced for PS4 so far are on the list, including AC and DiRT Rally, however I'm pretty sure they removed Sebastian Loeb Evo from that list recently. I downloaded the demo but haven't tried it yet myself to see if this is a mistake or support has been left out.

Edit: apparently there are issues with the T500 in the Seb Loeb Evo demo: http://www.isrtv.com/forums/topic/20717-sebastien-loeb-rally-evo-ps4-demo/
With Milestone you never know if this would get fixed or be a permanent feature....

For comparison, this is the T300 PS4 compatibility list:

Thanks for the info... how do you think, for how much now used aftermarket Logitech G27 sells?

I did some search and for now it seems I will buy Thrustmaster T300 Ferrari integral racing wheel (replica from ferrari 599XX), at my local store its for 439 Euros, since the T300 works with PS3, PS4 and PC... considering to sell G27, how much does it cost now, aftermarket prices are so different everywhere!?
