First, since I don't have cable, a technician will have to come to get the cable set-up, right???

Second, if you don't mind tell me the price you pay.

Third, What are the problems that you had with their service?

and What cable modem are you using?

Yes.

I believe the price is around $40 a month. You can go to comcast.com and see what kinds of pricing plans they have. There is also a combo deal where you can get cable internet and digital cable for around $55 a month.

Third, What are the problems that you had with their service?
I don't have cable internet fron Comcast, but I do have digital cable from them. For the most part, the service is good. The biggest problem with Comcast is that when the cable does go out or bad reception, it's out for upwards of an hour or more. Your service may vary.

and What cable modem are you using?
I believe Comcast uses Motorola modems.

ouch... $40USD per month? I pay $44 canadian per month for my 3mbps connection - and that includes the modem rental and taxes.

Actually, I think it's $57 per month.

I was looking at DSL, but the distance to the central office is about 13,000 feet.

DO you have any relay boxes near your house? I've got one right down the street from me. :D
