Hi all,

With the last New Year Challenge we recieved some restoration tickets which, as I recall,
transforms your car back to the way it was as it was brand new. Back to stock, basicly.
Is there any other way to get your car back to 'dealership condition"?
In other words: can we buy these tickets somewhere or is there a restoration button of any kind? (Haven't found it myself so I don't think so)

Now for the big question :sly:
How does it work and are all parts lost or just "unequipped" (but available for later tuning)?
Example: If I have a stage 3 turbo and a racing echaust equipped and I would use a ticket,
will the stage 3 turbo and the exhaust be gone forever or will the checkmark just be set to default parts?
Permanent upgrades like weight reduction are usually irreversable, what about these kind of modificantions?

Little summary:
1. Any way to completely restore a car withouth the NewYear tickets?
2. Are all parts lost or just unequipped and still available?
3. Anyting else I need to know about these tickets?

Thank you in advance for your help :)

1. Its the same as you would restore your car in the GT-auto. Like you would normally restore your cars body or overhaul your engine.
2. All parts will not be lost or unequipped, you will keep all parts and settings/tunes.
3. Use them if you're short on cash and when the prize of restoring your car cost 500.000cr wich is the maximum prize

EDIT: Maximum prize is 500k in both engine overhauling and body restore. wich will make it 500k x2 = 1m credits.

I think he's talking about different tickets than you are. You're referring to the Chassis Maintenance and Engine Rebuild Tickets that you get at the start of the game.

Ok. Now I'm wondering too lol anyone?!?

He's talking about those tickes you win one time only from the new years Super GT seasonals right? I've spent those tickets, Im pretty sure its the same thing??

Hmm, well then why are they so rare? I've never used them before so I can't say what they do, but when I've been short on credits, I have used an Engine Overhaul ticket.

Those rare tickets are the ones I'm talking about indeed ;)
The one(s) you win in one of the latest seasonal.

I never used the engine overhaul or chassis rebuild in GTauto; mainly because of the insane price...
but what I get from o9lifted it's basicly the same thing?
Can the car restoration ticket just be a combination of engine overhaul & chassis rebuild?

Thanx for your answers iainoflo85 and o9lifted 👍

The ticket reverts the mileage on the car to zero, that is all it does. The engine power is restored to a zero mile state and the chassis rigidity is restored to a zero mile state. As such, these tickets are best used on cars with huge amounts of miles on them to where a normal engine rebuild will not bring it back to maximum power any more.

It does not remove any parts or upgrades, it does not reset any tuning to default values, it does not reset the "switched" count to zero.

This does mean that the base HP of the car drops down a bit because it has to go through the break in period again though.

So will be a 0/0/0 but with switches on where it had only miles before?

So e.g will it go from 0/100,000/0 to 1/0/0?

That's a clear answer, thanx :)
What a bummer, I was hoping these tickets could do magic...

There so rare you would probably be right to think that. And they can't be traded either.

It will keep any record of switchs or wins. Only the Odometer goes back to Zero. So if you switched into the car 10 times and had 1500 wins, it will just go to 10/0/1500.

The guys that turn cars into 0/0/0, that is glitching a car. Painting a car to a different color, I just learned can still be 0/0/0 with perfect PP. You just get the original paint chip.

How do you do this? You used to be able to paint the stock wheels and keep it 0/0/0 before it was patched.

How do you do this?

I have no clue, but I really wish there was no way to do it. Wasted 3 days ripping tickets to get the car I thought I had was pure! :(.

If I dont get it tonight. 4 days and counting!

I guess I need to be clearer. The ticket itself reduces the mileage of the car you are currently in to zero. Period. It does nothing else.

Obviously there is going to be at least 1 "switch" added to the car if you have to get in the car to use the ticket.

If you know how the glitching works, you can go from 0/xxx/0 to 0/0/0.
You could even paint the car 👍

Cheers

True. I just tried both ways a few days ago and it still works. You can use the ticket to glitch it to 0/0/0 and you can also paint a 0/0/0 car without putting a switch on it. Search option is your friend here if you wish to know how its done.

If your car has 0/xxx/0 registered and you're looking to use the ticket to restore it to the virginal state of 0/0/0 then here's how.

1) Get in the car.

2) Immediatley adjust brake balance in tuning. Adjusting anything in tuning will do the trick I think. Not sure why.

3) You're done. Go use that ticket. come back to garage and find car in 0/0/0 condition.

I've been using this method to paint cars for almost a year now and I've also found that you can produce pristine RM cars too with this technique as well. The difference with the RM cars?

When you purchase a car you wish to Race Modify you cannot get into it until you are in your garage(very important!!!).You must still adjust something in the tuning area as well before leaving the garage area before the modification is to take place. While you are in it you may as well paint it.

Remember you may enter any car as many times as you please, and paint it with this method. It's not a one time only deal for any car. Messed up the first time? No sweat,do it again!...lol

Enjoy!!

^ this

The "car restoration" ticket is a time machine to the moment the car rolled out of the factory -- the engine, chassis, and everything else is totally brand new, which is better than rebuilt. The car's color (and wheels and aero upgrades too I think) will remain whatever they were before the restoration. This is my understanding and hope it helps answer the question.

I have only used 2 of my 10 car restoration tickets, one for an abused FGT that was completely FUBAR, and another for a gift car given to another GTP user for last year's Secret Santa Gift exchange.

Shall definitely be doing this! Not sure about using restoration tickets though as I could just get the car again from a tradable level/birthday ticket.

The only reason you'd need to use a restoration ticket is to get rid of the mileage. If you're looking to paint,or RM a car then no ticket is required of course.Just hop in,change some digits in the tuning area(before you leave the garage) and you're all set. Brakes are easiest because no extra cost of purchase is required to alter them(i.e.-tires will cost you extra...etc.). You only need to move them 1 digit and for some reason that will prevent the car from registering a car change.

I have over a 1000km on my C7 Vette but because it's a Camo car I decided I needed to be a Camo driver too so the digits read out as 0/1xxx/9 wins..👍

If I wanted a fresh no mileage version of a rare UCD car I could just rip a ticket til I got it. So therefore restoration tickets will forever collect dust in my items list.

I meant I would definitely be painting stock cars.

EDIT: Hang on I just thought of something - does this mean that you can do pretty much anything you like in GT Auto (after adjusting the brakes) and the car will still remain 0 changes? Like an oil change?

Correct...Paint,car wash, oil change,Race Mod,anything you like.As I said. You can even race it and still have 0 changes but miles will accrue. This is repeatable time and again with any car as I posted above with my C7 Vette.

It bears repeating though that if you wish to race modify a car you must buy it in the dealership but "NOT GET IN IT" until you are in your garage and then alter the brakes there first before heading out for the moditying.(very important).

Anytime you wish to do anything to a 0/0/0 car just follow those simple steps and away you go.

I restored my Caterham 7 Fireblade, the mileage went back to 0 & the BHP remained as high as a broke in car, just like cars bought from the OCD. I wonder if these tickets could be used to break in the engines of new cars to full power? Could be a usefull way of doing it if it works & you have multiple accounts.

I used it on a fully tuned & weight reducted (is that a word?) Impreza '10.
Result:
-milage reset to 0,0;
-adjustments reset to 4 (the weight reduction possibly?).

The remaining 9 tickets will be left in my garage to die; I don't see a reason to use them again.

Tried it last night & it doesn't work! If you restore a car that's already broke in, it will retain full power, but if you use it on a new car it will not give you full power like cars from the OCD.
