OK.. I have seen the quick match events which is a great feature, However......
9/10 times you get disconnected from the servers and once you finally get into a race you get completely smashed into the wall by some ...... that will end up going the reverse way around the track to make sure your race is completely messed up...

My only problem with quick match events is running clean and getting a perfect line into a corner just to get sideswiped by some jackwad and I get a 6 second collision penalty. Nothing better than being penalized for not doing anything wrong. This happened to me twice yesterday in the new RB Jr race and many times in the 450pp event. I think PD needs to work on the collision detection aspect of the penalties.

@Whalengt said: Racing clean is faster than hitting everthing around you.

I like your signature 👍 It's so true!!

It's a lot more fun than "hitting everything around you" like a Jackwad!!! :D

I have just watched Porsche Supercup around Monaco and there is less contact in the race than in the first four corners of the two quick matches I took part in.
I havent had any connection problems (yet) so I wouldnt say the events were rubbish, driving standards though are a little loose. Not being a superfast driver myself, there has to be some attempt not to crash into opponents.

Maybe 1 qualifying lap would do the trick?

I know this is not always true, but. Most of the drivers who are in there to drive dirty, are not the fastest drivers. So a qualifying lap would put the dirty drivers in hummers in the back of the field
Maybe, started on front row of touring car QM, made a good start, but then I (assumed everyone else too) had to brake for turn 1.

I tried the 2014x Junior for the first time last night. Race number two I came across a Brazilian who shoved me off track in the hard right hander at turn 3. Then during warm up in the next race brake checked me leaving the pits. I swerved to avoid him and he followed to make sure I couldn't pass. Next warm up, same thing.

Not only would Ayrton Senna be disappointed in him, he is now classified as a jackwad. lol

I did win a couple races by my 5th try, so it was fun once I got a little comfortable and discarded the Brazilians with Internet bravado.

The Red Bull QM was the only one PD servers would let me into last night. The race was just me and someone from France. The other racer got a penalty for cutting turn 1. Then I gave the lead back spinning out in turn 2 on the second lap. Might have gotten pushed into the spin, but I didn't hear contact. Then for some inexplicable reason the other racer waited at the finish line so I could retake the lead on the final lap. I stopped at the finish line before the last lap to give the lead back and he (she?) came up behind me and pushed me over the finish line for the win. Wackiest race ever, but I got 500K out of it.

@Cb , Yeah, they drive dirty, but why is that a problem for you I wonder? they are too slow to be able to crash into you from behind, and the guys running the other way around have so bad reflexes, that if you go to one side of the track, and then swing to the other side in the last second, they'll miss you.

I can win these races 9/10 times, and I'm confident the same goes for you mate! :)

Besides, why do you even bother?

Edit: oh, and a little tip, if you got someone that you know drive dirty right behind you, and you know he'll just ram into you in the next corner, when he's straight behind you, slam on the brakes in the middle of the straight. He'll get a 6 second penalty for running into you, and you can drive through the corner peacefully. ;)

Going into a quick match, you'll probably be paired up with kids, old people above 60, people who pass the controller to their cat in the house, or someone who has no interest whatsoever and just trying out the game.

I suggest joining racing leagues on forums to find good clean drivers who play fair and have the skill to drive around other players. I used to play quick matches only, took time (years) to find good drivers from there, and now I don't see the point of playing mediocre races when I can just play some good quality ones which are run smoothly and fairly.

No need to spend hours getting disconnected, then to only connect and play with someone who doesn't know what braking means.

Every now and then you get a gem of a room where everyone races clean and don't use you as their brake. Every now and then you run with someone like me that will park on the front straight on the last lap so others can take the money (providing they raced me clean). Every now and then you will meet someone that impresses you enough with their sense of fair play that you become friends. Yet the first and foremost reason I go is for the easy money. Must admit I love the Redbull Jr car on the Redbull Ring.

All of the above offset the cheaters and dirtbags that are only there to see what mayhem they can cause or so it seems. I would never recommend brake checking anyone for any reason. Two wrongs don't make a right and in fact can cause such behavior to spread further. Today for one or two races I ran corners 1 and 8 to make a point to a few people that were running any corner they could run on. I think they got the point but who knows though they did start staying on the track. I don't mind losing to a cheater anymore but I hate it when they take you out every chance they get as it's the only way they can get by. I put that on PD though as how easy would it be to have a set of simple rules,if you hit someone from behind you are at fault unless it's a brake check. Pd could clean this up if they wanted too. The same thing goes for their server issues (is that PD or Sony)?

One last thing. We all go to QM for our own reasons but to point fingers at kids or old people or people that pass the controller to their cat (their cat? Really?) or someone that clearly has enough interest to at least try the game is a mistake in my mind. The problem is dirtbags are encouraged to continue to be dirtbags by not having good and proper rules and then enforcing those rules. If it's good enough for a real race track then it should be ok for "THE REAL DRIVING SIMULATOR". I know some will say "but it's just a game". That's not how PB and Playstation advertise it though. They do what they do so people like us will buy it looking for that cheap racing experience. I bet very few buy it to experience a Sunday drive.

PS: I am soon to be 60 and I win more than I lose. I know some very fast kids but I've yet to meet a fast or slow cat ;)

The reason why I even bother with quick match, is because it is difficult to find a room without tuning, SRF and underpowered sports cars with racing soft tyres.

I kinda agree with being a clean driver yourself is going to make more clean drivers, however when there is 16 drivers with 16 different destinys you never know, what is going to happend :3

My experience has been mixed. I went in one night and the two guys giving me the most grief came around when they realized I just wanted to drive fast but clean. We ended up having a blast and they requested friendships and are now on my list, mind you more than a few I never excepted too. It's not win at all costs to me and I won't hit you on purpose. I try not to hit at all. I don't know how your experience has been but I find some flags I am very much on edge when I see them.

If you ever see me in a room be sure to say hi. I will race you clean all day and hopefully give you a challenge. Goes for all here I would guess.

Brake checking is for losers. You don't do it in real life and you shouldn't be doing it here either.

I wait at the finish line also, to let others have more money.

I've been sent quite a lot of friend requests being the cleanest racer I can be, whether I win or lose. It's a much better experience for everyone that way. If the cheaters are gonna cheat and hack their way around the track, they can go right ahead, cause I don't need the money and I don't care to race hacks.

Behavior is contagious, good and bad. I try to race as realistic as I am able. Sometimes I'll get surprised by an early braker, or he might by my style. I also believe a little rub here and there is part of racing, just as in real racing, so I don't expect to never feel any contact.
But in the end I'm usually buying 2-20 million dollar duplicate cars because I'm just about at 50 million credits, so it's not about the money. It's about finding some good racers, making the hackers realize how unproductive their driving style is and making a few friends when there is a chance.

It's supposed to be fun and challenging, not stressful.

Tried many times to join these and the timer counts down and restarts then boots me from the lobby... my missus boots her ps3 tonight to see how it works on hers and gets in a race instantly and faultless connecting??? and also laughing at my bad luck connecting haha :P

I give up trying as it's such a boring wait for the same result 👎

Have you tried clearing your cache?

I haven't participated in QM much at all. In the few races I did, it's a matter of just staying alive and avoiding as much carnage as you can. When I started in the mid to back of the grid, I took it easy and let everyone crash ahead of me. As a result I was able to finish on the podium after avoiding all of the wrecks and other messes. Starting near the front is a different story though; you've got to be patient and stay out of the way of the 'no brakes' crowd because they'll usually take you out in the first corner. I actually won from pole once at Tsukuba only because the entire field wrecked behind me. Lucked out I suppose...

If the servers could only pair drivers based on their GT6 experience and driving styles then I would use QM more often. As it stands it's too much of a crapshoot on what you'll get, and life is too short to waste on junk races.

Why do I keep getting disconnected every single time I try to QM? Baffled!

Edit: Because Clear Cache! Works great now.

Had some good runs in Red Bull ring tonight. Set a best for me of 4:26.xx and a best lap of 1:26.xx.

It's amazing how much speed the car will carry if you're brave enough. Going 1.5 seconds a lap faster than my first night.

Ok i got in at last and had 2 races First at the Red bull ring and next was Le mans and both races were punt fests to the extreme! totally expected and wont be going back again... haha absolutely pointless 👎

Thanks for suggestions on connection issues 👍 Good luck finding a respectful line up ;)

And many gamers dont play fair sadly, they push you out in the gravel , why cant the play fair and clean

Every QM match first corner.

...I imagine this is a preview of GT7 QM's :D

So true, though! haha

Also, has anyone ever experienced a car in a QM that the game physics doesn't apply to? Someone was on a few events in a row spinning wildly down the track, slamming me and others into the walls in the turns.

Oh, you're meeting the warp drive cars, I have ran into them several times. Smoking tires, here 1 second & somewhere else the next. Reek havoc in their wake. Gotta love it. Then there are the conner cutters, brake checkers, hammer you into the wall, & all round idiot children. Ignore them, run as clean of a race as you can, collect your credits, & move on. They take themselves out a lot of time...

These "races" are like a gnat bite or an itchy small rash, you really shouldn't scratch it because it'll only make it worse, but somehow you just can't help yourself...
Anyways, usually before spending an hour and a half getting "ENTRY FAILED/YOU HAVE BEEN DISCONNECTED FROM THE SERVER" I like to put in 10-15 laps in a free run to warm up.Ok so all warmed up,lines sorted, apexes hit, finally i've got in,go out on track, coming up to the first corner, the slightest of touches on the brakes-instant lock up,turn the wheel the merest of turns-lose all grip and crash into the barriers,a different room the cars sticks like the proverbial to a blanket
The physics change from room to room is astonishing and very frustrating as it takes so long to change room, and its not a given you'll even get back in.
Which brings me to my second whinge-the matching process-anyone else notice they are continually matched against the same players ? After a while there are certain names(rammers, dive bombers etc) you really don't want to see on the same grid, with the amount of people playing you'd think it could be a bit more mixed up...
I know this has all been said before in one way or another, but I just needed to get it off my chest, sad thing is though i'll soon set my wheel up and do it all again
