Quick question re: Grid Autosport

Anyone know if this game is like Dirt 3, where you can choose a (common) female name and avatar, or if it's like Grid 2, which assumes only men would ever play their game and includes only male names? Or if it simply doesn't have Codemasters' "include your name in the audio" gimmick?

It looks very much up my alley (sim-leaning, focused around touring cars and street cars, real-life circuits and real-life cars, etc), at least as far as console racing games go, but I refuse to give my money to games that act like there's no such thing as women who enjoy motorsports and/or videogames.

You can choose between Male and Female, and choose what name you want to be called as. You can also choose your racing number. Think that's all the avatar customization you get.

GRID Autosport feels like Grid 2, though it's a bit more refined. They tried to make it feel sim-like, but honestly it's Grid 2 again but pretends to have an authentic racing experience. Oddly enough, there's a few discplines in Career mode that feel so similar to Grid 2.

Thank you! It was really only the "does the list of names include female names?" thing I wanted to know. It was something that REALLY REALLY bothered me about Grid 2, so I wanted to make sure it wasn't the case here before handing over the money. Everything else about the game seems pretty great. Seems more my style than Grid 2 in most respects.

Which platform are you going to buy it on? Because the game goes on sale quite often on PC. Not sure about the console platforms.

PS3. My computer is just a little macbook air, and my only other console is an original X-Box. I don't have much money. :P

A proper PC gaming set-up would be FANTASTIC, since it would mean being able to plays proper, legit, honest-to-god racing sims like iRacing or GT Legends, as well as getting to do Forza and such. But I just can't justify the expense.

You don't have a spend a fortune to run iRacing or GT Legends. If you like you can PM me and we'll work out a PC build.
