Im asking this cause I'm curious, which is worse. Oversteer or understeer. Try to explain

It depends on driving style - both slow down lap times.

Oversteer is when the car gets tail-happy, turning farther than you've turned the wheels, understeer is when the car doesn't turn as far as you've turned the wheels - essentially like turning the wheel and the car continuing to go straight (as an extreme example).

I personally prefer oversteer to understeer because the car still feels fun to drive, but if you're going for lap times you want to have the car balanced as possible.

Most cars described as "bad handling" would be the stock over steering ones like Cizeta, Stratos, F40, Yellowbird, Zonda, etc. You can tune them to be easier drive but most are still faster than understeerers.

Both as bad as each other really but if I had to pick one, I'd say under steer. Frustrates the hell out of me constantly having to back off in corners.

Uncontrolled over steer is a close second but controlled over steer is pure bliss.

It depends on the circumstances. Yes, oversteer can be fun, but when I'm racing against others, I would much rather have a car that understeers if one or the other are my only options.

I like to duck under cars heading into corners, so id much rather have over steer (which can be avoided through careful driving usually).

There's not much to do with under steer apart brake early which is the opposite of my driving style... although these cars tend to be very stable on corner exits, which the sooner you floor it out of a corner the better usually, so they aren't THAT bad.

Oversteer is mostly fun, it's not a bad thing imo. Understeer on the other hand is always bad, all of the time.

Both are good if deliberately induced. They both serve the purpose of keeping you on the track. Both suck when they happen when you don't want them to happen. Then they both try to kill you.

I'd like to say under steer is quite a bit safer and easier to correct while driving (tuning it out can be downright impossible for some cars, such as the mustang v8 GT ...).

Over steer can get messy quite quickly and easily cost you more time.

Not much to say,but understeer's one of things I most hate when it comes to motorsports. That's why I'm always trying to avoid FF cars as much as possible. Dont get me wrong,I know there's many FF specialists who actually knows who to race them,and yes,I like some FF cars,but the true is,I can't trust them at all when It becames for real. Why? I'm a average driver with many tailhappy cars,such as Stratos,Rufs,old Ferraris,but awful with FF cars. I just can't find the right way to be fast with them,and sure,I can't deal with their understeering at any circunstances. I'm not a "drift fanboy",poser or something,I really can't drive FF cars fast and occasionally I find myself having troubles even with 4WDs. it actually makes me feel very frustrated.

Both are bad depending on severity, I would much rather have oversteer, it's a little more manageable than understeer, understeer is more or less, letting up on gas, or e brake, or further braking which could ruin lap times. With oversteer you can control it by finding that sweet spot in the rpms, that allows you to still grip, and have that oversteer at the same time. I'm not sure how to explain it. Rally cross methods is the closest example.

I think that oversteer is worse because you never know when it'll hit. For example: take the Acura NSX going into a corner. Corner entry comes in with a slight angle and you try to stabilize the vehicle when all of a sudden, snap, you go into the outside wall. Understeer I think is more predictable and can be easier tuned.

Maybe when you turn too much and notices that you're going to hit the edge...

IMO it would be the otherway around. With slight oversteer to get better angle in the corners would be quicker.
