$600,000 seems an awful lot of money for a car which at best people will think is a £70k AC MkIV, and at worst a £20k replica. Its not as if they handled well at the time, let alone 40 years latter.

I don't think I'd ever want to spend that much money on a car unless I bought it for an investment. But of course, there are very few cars that could become investments... and a house is probably a safer investment anyways (depending on the location).

wows thats pricy, id go for a kit replica rather than original any day, mainly cos itll have all the modern features and Dax offer their Tojeiro with space for a jag v12 :D

The Shelby is pretty pricy; it'll probably get their reserve, but whoever buys it won't make their money back.

The Daytona Spyder, since it's a factory car and not a coupe conversion, will probably make it's money back.

I'm turned on by the all-original LS6 Vette, though...

I'd much prefere a nice early 'plexiglass' steel roofed version (with 9" rear wheels) and save myself $350k - removing the roof did nothing to improve its looks.

GT, for $600k, I could get a XJ220 S! Hell, maybe even a TWS Edition. *drools*

That first Benz is gorgeous. I mean. Holy Crap! It's Classin', es`e.

The Jag seems pretty good value, the XJ220 has to be one of, if not the most underated supercars of all time. Trouble with these Jags is that most were bought as an investment and have been used very rarely. When they are used again after a long lay-up it costs so much to recommission them. Fuel tanks, brakes, valve springs all need changing if the car's still in its original state. This usually needs a specialist to do the work, i doubt your local Jag dealer would touch one. A trip back to the UK would probably be needed, although TWR are now no more theres a company called Don Law Racing who recommission/service most of the 200+ cars that were built. This is probably why its advertised so cheeply.

Yeah. Well, it was underrated only because it had a 6, and at the time, people thought it couldn't be a real supercar with just a 6. Obviously 911s have proved it wrong, but, thats how it went.
I'm sure the Jag will fetch more.
I know Bentley/Aston/Jag/LR Bellevue,WA has a GORGEOUS burgundy one. They aren't selling it. Apparently, it took them TWO years to track down one.

I'm gonna get the BS card on this, but here goes, A guy in my neighborhood had a Daytona Spyder, (one of the original 125), and the most beautifl E type I've ever seen. The Ferrari's Block cracked in the winter, so he sold it for 80,000 dollars, wuith a corvette engine in it.

:drool:LS6.....
:drool:HEMI....

That poor Lincoln Zephyr......

Folks, let me put this in perspective:

A 1967 Shelby Cobra could do 0-100-0 in 14 seconds.

In 1967.

I'm with Taurine on this one - I consider the Shelby Cobra the single most special car ever produced.

I remember on this program that the Cobra went so fast down a motorway in the UK back then, that speed limits were put in place.

Thanks Shelby. :grumpy:

:)

not for $600 large.

id rather get a kit car for one tenth the price and drive the p!ss out of it. if i wanted an investement id buy stock.

Did anyone else notice the E350 on picture four? It rocked my world

Who the **** buys a CGT, and only drives it for 400 miles? Hell, thats like, one week of driving.

400miles!? I would clock that up by the second day I bought it.

Yea no kidding! I'd easily clock 400 miles in a couple of days...hell I'd probably sleep in the thing the first night I'd get it. It's slowly becoming my favorite hyper car slowly passing the Zonda. The exhaust note of the Carrera GT is one of the best in the history of automotives.

Case in point the attached file, rename from .TXT to .MP3. Now this is an exhaust note. :sly:

McLarnenF1 GTR-- I'd be betting money that the 328, and probably 1+ of the 360's had their clock turned back.
It's pretty easy to do in Ferraris, and is done rather commonly.

That really, really surprises me that they'd admit (or know, for that matter) that the clocks had been rolled back .
They drive the cars out on the highway every so often as well so possibly they could have done something. Again, these were 2 cars they themselves sold. They wouldn't say anything on any other car in the dealer, regardless of model.

They know me pretty well, (friends with Mr. Seale) and they know I won't be buying 1 from them anytime soon. I can always find out a few things going on in the dealer. ;)
