M5PowerI'm with Taurine on this one - I consider the Shelby Cobra the single most special car ever produced.
Cheers

Next time I'm there, I'm going to mention that a guy named Rick told me that they rolled the clocks back. Then I'd say "I'll take my $300,000 in cash elsewhere!"McLaren F1GTRThey drive the cars out on the highway every so often as well so possibly they could have done something. Again, these were 2 cars they themselves sold. They wouldn't say anything on any other car in the dealer, regardless of model.
They know me pretty well, (friends with Mr. Seale) and they know I won't be buying 1 from them anytime soon. I can always find out a few things going on in the dealer.![]()
Their gone by now according to their inventory, and hell, the salesman who told me probably got himself in trouble anyways.EventNext time I'm there, I'm going to mention that a guy named Rick told me that they rolled the clocks back. Then I'd say "I'll take my $300,000 in cash elsewhere!"
Oh, so you're a Texan too? 👍E55PowerAnyone in texas been down to Barrett Ferrar/Maser SanAntonio recently? I'm curious to see what they've got in their inventory.
I think I'm heading down next weekend, the Maser needs to get fixed, too. Crappy door alignment problems.
E55PowerMcLarnenF1 GTR-- I'd be betting money that the 328, and probably 1+ of the 360's had their clock turned back.
It's pretty easy to do in Ferraris, and is done rather commonly.
G.TI remember on this program that the Cobra went so fast down a motorway in the UK back then, that speed limits were put in place.
Thanks Shelby.
M5PowerFolks, let me put this in perspective:
A 1967 Shelby Cobra could do 0-100-0 in 14 seconds.
In 1967.
TheCrackerShow it a corner though and it collapses in tears. The car was dynamically flawed, it was only the oversized engine that kept its head above water.
How do you rename it?JCE3000GTYea no kidding! I'd easily clock 400 miles in a couple of days...hell I'd probably sleep in the thing the first night I'd get it. It's slowly becoming my favorite hyper car slowly passing the Zonda. The exhaust note of the Carrera GT is one of the best in the history of automotives.
Case in point the attached file, rename from .TXT to .MP3. Now this is an exhaust note.![]()
McLaren F1GTRLet me introduce you to Dallas.
Lamborghini of Dallas:
~2005 Ferrari F430 Spyder - 65 miles
~4 Ferrari Modenas - All under 2,000 miles.
~'89 328 GTB - 5,683 miles
~2005 Ford GT - 29 miles
Only 2 cars with over 10K miles excluding a big truck.
'71 Dino 246GT - 48,665
'01 Diablo VT 6.0 - 16,454
Yeah....welcome to Dallas.
TheCracker$600,000 seems an awful lot of money for a car which at best people will think is a ÂŁ70k AC MkIV, and at worst a ÂŁ20k replica. Its not as if they handled well at the time, let alone 40 years latter.
Did you go when they had what I think is the only blue F50 in the US (or world?)?JCE3000GTFerrari of Dallas used to have cars like that. 550's that had less than 5k miles. And once they had an F40 in the showroom that was low mileage (can't remember the exact amount). I occasionally stroll in there just to see if they have something interesting like the F40. 👍
The same people who sell Ferraris with under 2,000 miles.MustangSVTFor that kind of money, I think I'd rather get a red Testarossa for $60k from my local exotics dealer with 40,000km on it and a Diablo VT for like ~180k with 20,000km on it. Oh and also a Porsche 911 Turbo and M3 E46 and a Viper GTS for everyday driving.
edit: that guy has a Carrera GT AND a F50??. Oh and who only drives a car for 300 miles. For a Carrera GT, I'd do more the 300 miles the first day. đź’ˇ
M5PowerI don't know about collapses in tears. When you consider this car's cornering abilities, you have to remember its age. We talk about this car's acceleration today compared to some of our top supercars, simply because it was so ahead of its time in that department that it's still competitive. Indeed, its handling has fallen behind, but you must remember the handling of some of its 1960s competitors also - comparisons against current standards with this vehicle are flawed.
Technology wasn't there either - this car was manual everything. It didn't have any electronic aids, or anti-lock brakes, or ceramic this, or automatic that. This thing was the driver's car of driver's cars.
E55PowerExcept, this guy is going to lose alot of money, because the CGT isn't in demand.
McLaren F1GTRDid you go when they had what I think is the only blue F50 in the US (or world?)?
They had that from their old dealer next Classic.
Awesome car.
Yep, the only blue one in existant.JCE3000GTBLUE!? Holy ****ing ****. Wait wait, you said blue right? Even the F50 would look good in blue. I've seen only 1 F50 in person at the Ferrari of Dallas...and it wasn't blue. I'd like to see an F40 in blue personally...but that would be a sacrilege for a Ferrari wouldn't it?I think yellow would look good on the F40 don't you? Just like the CGT looks the best in either yellow or the darker blue. Bah, I want a Carrera GT...such a sexy car.
Should see it in person. Was there for the grand opening of the new Ferrari dealer (both me and it).EventThat car looks amazing. I'm going to paint my F50 Blue!![]()
