I saw this great quote by Stephen Hawking (I think), but I can't remember what it, exactly It goes something like "I couldn't have seen further had I been standing on the shoulders of giants"

Thanks for your help, I feel like a total moron.

The quote is:

"If I have seen farther, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants."

It was said by Isaac Newton in 1676.

By the way, it took me approximately 30 seconds to go to www.google.com, type in "Stephen Hawking" and "seen farther" and shoulders and giants, and the second result contained exactly what I was looking for.

Learning how to properly use Google is among the most important internet tools one can arm oneself with.

Yeah, I get the point. I'm not some spamming n00b trying to up my post count. Besides, it is a good quote, and I'm sure others will see it and enjoy it.

But thank you anyways, snide comments and all.

No snide comments, it's just good to know how to use Google effectively. I learned a few things myself on those pages.

I'm hardly being "snide." I was merely pointing out that the search took as long to find the answer to your question as it did for you to open this thread. How am I supposed to know you're not a "nooB?" By being lazy - because that IS what you were being - you set up an image for yourself of being incompetent. I think I answered in the nicest way possible.

As for others seeing the quote and liking it, don't use that as an excuse as to why you opened this thread. Be honest; you opened it because you wanted some information and were too lazy to get it yourself. If you're not lazy, you're unable to get the info off Google by yourself, hence the answer I gave which was filled with instructions on how I got the answer for you. It was just to help you in the future; if you already know how to use Google to find something like this, then I ask again,

WHY DID YOU BOTHER POSTING AND ASKING SOMEONE ELSE TO FIND IT FOR YOU?

It's the equivalent of asking for settings to a car you just got in GT3. Instead of actually learning how to tune, you simply let others do the work for you and reap their benefits.

"Give a man some settings, you'll help him win one race with one car. Teach a man to tune, you'll help him win the whole game."

You can win the whole game with only minor setting changes. Settings are only useful for OLR.

Why not, having Google'd and found what you looking for (or rather having Anderton Prime Google for you) just put it in your sig then?

the_cobbinator has his answer, and Anderton Prime has made a good point in a cogent fashion, with help from cardude2004.

This thread can only go downhill from now, so I'm going to close this before it gets out of hand. We're done here now.
