No, this can’t be. :( One of the biggest losses in comedy (and freedom), ever.

(BTW, just a note to everyone: Please keep it clean.)

Go to Youtube and search George Carlin Seven Words for one of his best performances.

RIP George.

:(

I usually don't care a whole lot when a celebrity dies, but.. George Carlin was awesome and had a brilliant mind and stage presence. Truly the best comedian I've ever heard. And he still did HBO specials every year. Terrible, terrible news. I don't know what else to say.

OH MY GOD.

My family and I were talking about Tim Russert when he died, and I thought of George Carlin and that he could be the next "celeb" to go. This is shocking.

Rest in peace, George.

DAMN! A huge loss! :(

My Favorite George Carlin Joke: Stupid Things We Say "Legally Drunk. Well, if it's legal, what's the ******* problem! Hey! Leave my friend alone, officer. He's legally drunk!"

R.I.P., George. He was the best comedian, ever...The best.

I know you'd like something wittier said, but I'm at a loss for words.

I was 9 years old when I watched one of George's comedy specials on HBO. It was at midnight, when the parents were asleep; they didn't think I was ready for his humor...unfortunately, I gave up my cover the first time I had a bowl of Rice Krispies.

:(

It's indeed a shame that we have lost him. George had to pass away. :( But, he coulda died! You know, have a twenty minute seizure, start the lawnmower, run over a rabbit, and end up dead in the neighbor's birdbath.

Carlin was THE best. Dirty, raunchy, offbeat, witty and incredibly intelligent, George Carlin had the innate ability to make people laugh. Some of these ***holes laugh at the wrong times. the *****s...

I got kept from seeing him at 16 by a bunch of activist conservatives at the MGM Grand desk who wouldn't call the Stardust to even see if I could get a ticket.

May the Sun and Joe Pesci be looking warmly over him.

Rest in Peace, George.

I remember listening to scratchy Carlin records as an impressionable pre-teen back in the '70s. It was always interesting to get past the language and hear the words behind the humour.

RIP, and **** you, sir.

I will miss ****in' Carlin.
I think his range was impressive (Mr. Conductor in Shining Times Station to 7 words you can't say on TV).
I guess we should credit him for that list being down to 2 words you can't say on TV:lol:

You made us laugh for a lot of years George. **** you, sir and RIP.

I can't believe I'm reading this..... It can't be. Along with Bill Hicks (who also died far too soon), Carlin was one of the most ground breaking, risk taking, influential comedians of all time. My heart goes out to his family, friends, and all who have enjoyed his performances over the years.

R.I.P.

;)

Dang, one the funniest guys ever to live, awesome as the Conductor on Shinning Time Station back in the day, and just a trip in all of the Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure movies... Anyway, R.I.P. George Carlin...

Oh, I just remembered...he was the voice behind this guy, too!

Last month, I spent like a week just watching Thomas the Tank Engine videos. I was blown away when I first found out that he’d done so many of the videos I watched as a kid.
