Really sorry to hear about your dog Dunc. I think dogs more than any pets become more like your kids or siblings making their loss that much harder to stomach

She was 16, blind and deaf (just like her mother ended up), So we had her put down.

It was a weird feeling saying goodbye to her before I left for work, knowing that in an hour she'd be dead. It was really hard.

16 in human years, or dog years? If it was in human years, then she had a nice fulfilling life with people that loved her. She was very lucky.
