Sorry to hear about your cat, Master Yoda... I know how it feels. I once had a cat that was poisoned by a neighbor... just as yours, died too young (5 years old).

That was my last cat, by the way. After him we went back to having dogs... which really isn't less painful when they die, but we're more of dog people.

I'm sorry to hear about that Master Yoda, my condolences go out to everyone affected by the loss.

I know what it's like to have a pet be put to sleep, back in I think 1999 we had a german shepard dog called "Swindon" (Yeah from the town in England  ) and he had to be put down after having problems with his digestive system. My mum said that he went to a place where he was needed much more... He was only 6.

100% indoor cats that has never been outside, getting fed the right food, can easily live to 20+.. (Which means I only have to keep up with the annoying habits for another 14+ years - Phew - That's nice to know)

Yep. We use to have a black cat named Smokey that lived to about 22 or 23 yrs old. The last year he was alive he was blind and losing most of his hair. It was really hard when he finally passed away. He was on his way for one last pitstop at the catbox when he passed away. :(

My flatmate just had his cat put down on Thursday morning. After 15 years it's kidneys had packed it in and it would have suffered otherwise. Never easy to let go of pets - for most people they're like one of the family.

Sorry for all the losse people it's very sad, and i've kinda wanted to just keep the cat we alread have Max he is 16 and a perfectly heathy cat, a veteran in cat fights, and hes a bully to my cat Goldie. The one room were Goldie was allowed was my room, and i wanted to keep my room stil as Goldies room, so Max can't come in. I still has my cats sense in it. and I've doen a funeral type thing, a ittok a shoe box, put my photos of him in it, his toy mouse, and a ziplock back of someof his hairs i found.

Sorry to hear the news Master_Yoda. :(

We have two cats here - both males. Still young though. Both under 4 years. One used to stay home a lot, while the other would hardly ever be here and always getting in fights. Came home with a tooth missing one night, so it was off to the vet with him for the ol' snip-snip.

Did the job. He stays home all day now - but now the other one is always away and getting into fights. He's constantly covered in cuts and scratches, and usually has at least one claw missing. He come home with a tooth broken the other day also, so he's booked in for the ol' snip-snip later in the week.

Anyway, when my cats are away from home for long periods (ie: don't come for dinner in the evenings) I always start to think bad thoughts. I've been known to head out the front of the property and have a look up and down the road to see if there's any lumps in the gutter... I'd be gutted to lose either of them.

Nothing too bad so far (touch wood), a broken toe is the worst they've had. Cats are a loved family member and it's hard losing one. He'll be in a better place now though... :)

I have lived with three cats and a dog in my life. Two of the cats, Cody and Casey, lived with my parents long before I was born. Casey died when I was about 5. I still remember how he would sleep nex to my dad's head at night. Cody was always mean to me from day 1. He was a fighter and he scared me when I was young. I don't hardly remember him, we never got along. Then we adopted a dog, Ginger, from my mom's friend. Ginger already knew us, so she didn't have a rough time adjusting. I used to yell at her when she barked a lot. Her voice changed quickly when she got older, and she developed arthritis. I remember yelling at her one time and scaring her, I think I sort of shortened her life that time. I wish I wouldn't have done that.:guilty: She lived with Smokey, our cat now, for about 2 years. He was a stray that just walked up to our door, literally. He was sitting on the back porch one night. Mom, the animal lover she is, opened the door and he walked right in. We've had Smoke for about 5 years now. He's the best cat, fat, happy, smart, lovable. He's asleep with my parents right now. He loves Wendy's chicken.
So I know how everyone feels, I'm probably more sentimental than most, and the feeling really sucks. Nothing worse.

Thanks all, again. I have kinda of gotten over him but still miss the high pitch meow when i came how. And i frequently call Max my otehr cat Goldie.

i still love my pets but i stopped feeling so much grief for the ones who died after i saw my dog get splattered right in front of me by a guy going about 60 down a residential street when i was 12 years old.

My cat died this morning. He ran away for 3 days, i found him yesterday, we took him to the hospitol for animals last night. At around midnight they called and said that he either has cancer, or a virus called FIP, either way there uncureable. He had to be put to sleep.

This pics was taken 2 years ago at christmas time. (2003)

My cat looks almost exactly like yours. That's kind of a downer. Sorry about your cat, by the way.
