You really think these are better than F1 cars??? I doubt it personally..but I'm ready to take your advice.

I don't think that the R390, GT1, or 787B are better than the F1's in the proper hands. I use them when I play my friends to even things up a little.

i think that the f-1 car are better if you got the right person driving and a good set up for that track. I got a tuned 787B and it's not as good as my two f-1 cars.;)

I races my bro on Tokyo with a S2000 LM against his F686 and how can I can I put this. . . . . . . .He spent most of the time inspecting my brake lights for me.

As for getting times? I can always get better times in my F094 than anyother car in the game. :D

WHOA WHOA WHOA! What are you calling a "regular car"? In my books that would be something more like a Mustang, Skyline, Supra, NSX ... since when was the R390 Race Car considered "regular"? And ... HELLO! F1 stands for Formula One, the creme de la creme, 'there are none better', top of the heap.

So by my inturpritation ... NO WAY MAN! F1s are the best, there's no getting around it. They are the best by definition.

Yes, but they are formula cars from 1994 and older. I definitely think that the 390,787, and GT1 are better than the '86 models. Just not the newer ones.

Well, how does GT3 define "normal cars"? There are a few races that you can enter only "normal cars". I thought that ment that the cars couldn't be modified, so I bought a Castrol Supra and it wouldn't let me enter it. I backed down to the best NSX I could get and slapped new tires on it.

What does GT3 call a "normal car", and which one is the best?

(is it worded "normal" or "regular" in the game? Or is it something else?)

My advice to anyone who is trying to decide on what car to use for the Formula GT Championship is: Use the F094/S or H, I mean sure you have to pit at least 3 times a race (Grand Valley 27laps) but hey, you'll be way ahead and the 30 lapper at Midfield shouldnt take you 30+min!

The Toyota GT1 Race Car is a pain to handle when on cold tires but after 5-6 laps the handling is great. The R390 and 787b's handleing are great off the bat and on cold tires.

There's a pretty clear difference between road and race cars in GT3 - a good indicator is in the Garage listing - on the car list, if you look all the way across to the left there's a small rectangle showing the colour of the car - there's no colour for the race car.

Anything with signs on it is a race car.

Define better??

IMO the F1 is in a league of it's own. The F1's are the fastest 'things' around all of the tarmac tracks...end of story!!

Drive the real 'cars' like the 787b, R390, GT1 etc... and decide for yourself which is best. All excellent cars but with different characteristics.

The F1s in the game, regardless of age, all have much better HP-to-weight ratios than anything else. True, the LeMans racers approach this HP-to-weight ratio and approach the F1 cars in handling, but they are not better in either of those categories. And, by default, they are not better cars. I guess the LM cars might make you 'feel' better.

Take a look at HP-to-weight ratios for your cars. It is THE definitive number to crunch when deciding on speed. The lower the ratio (the lower the #), the faster the acceleration and generally (gear ratio dependant) the faster the top speed. Remember, HP isn't the only judge. A 400HP car can beat a 600HP car, if it has the weight advantage.

The F1s are in the low .600-.700 range. The GT-One, R390, 787, are in the .700-.800 range. They are a bit slower. The Escudo is some ridiculously low #. Interestingly enough, the Speed 12 with maxed out HP is in the .800 range, but it handles essentially like a road car. This explains why it is much more difficult to drive than most cars in the game. Corvette C5R, Camaro Race Car, RX7-LM are about 1.100.

Another comparison. A stock 3000GT Turbo, which we can all agree is a fast road car, is about *5.500*. It really puts things in perspective.

Most important and first upgrade to any car should be: weight reduction.

I think the power to weight ratios in the game are messed up....
In real life, a higher ratio is better

400HP/400lbs or whatever =1
100hp/400lbs= .25

But if you are talking about weight to power it is the other way around....
400lbs/400hp=1
100lbs/400hp=.25

Sorry if this doesn't make any sense to anyone...

i agree totally with trophymaker.....that's how i see things but just before i reduced the weight of the car i would purchase at least the sports tires for these are the most efficient purchase in the game ...i think it even tells you this in the manual.....most people just think power at the beginning "What can I get this baby up to, oh 650, sweet" , meanwhile I can beat them with my 300 or so hp lotus motorsports elise.
They might have 2x the power but they also weigh 2x as much, therefore we both have the same or similar power to weight ratio but b/c i weigh half as much my braking and handling will be considerably better :D

I agree with both trophymaker and schumy.
Ofcourse the answer is in weight reduction, look for exaple at the Gilet Vertigo story.
Here is one (butt ugly) car which holds the world record for 0-60mph just by using all light space age materials....and it has only 400+bhp

just my 2 cts
;)
