i know swift will probs pounce on htis however it ISNT covered anywhere else and i say now that I HAVE SEARCHED to no avail.

(plz point me in the right direciton if ive over looked somehting which i probs have, thnx in advance)

i notice that drifters use really low HP cars when drifting, can you not do it in an 800HP R34 GT-R 00'? (R1 rear, R3 front) and is it ok to learn like this.

(it isnt in the setup database ive been searching for a while now)

absolutely. AWD cars typically require more power than an FR or MR to drift. 800 is overkill in my opinion, but it can certainly be done

well, like i just said, 800 hp is more than you should need. it might create bad habits and make you reliant only upon power to break traction. 500 should still be more than enough,

i'd definitely advise against the tire choice. I would recommend that you use the same tires at both ends and learn weight transfer techniques to break adhesion. 👍
it might be more difficult at first, but stick with it. Dont try to take the easy way, just spend some time practicing and things will start to happen.
 
450 hp is good power to be drifting with a 4wd car. what is the standard hp of a r34? as tankspanker said dont use different sets of tyres on the front 👍
 
well i took the turbo out an dits at 450 HP so i htought id leav eit at that, practicing on N2's on deep forest. iv elooked through the tuning bits of suspension and stuff and ive had a go at that. is all that REALLY necessary though as some people have said leave evryhting stock and then do it.

edit: and with drifting in general is all a matte rof handbrake/accelerration/countersteer?

Camber: 3.2/2.0
Downforce: 3/8
LSD: Default
VCD: 30

I love power and AWD. For FR/MR I try to stay under 300HP. And as far as mixing tires, yeah it's easier, but it just means you should pull off harder stuff to make up for it :yuck: I regress, if I had sims I would not mix

thnx, ill try that out. and why not stage 3 weight reduction?

edit: my ride height only goes down to 80 :indiff: and there are no wings you can buy that look good imo on a blue GTR

you can do stage 3, i have been lately. don't worry bout the wing, if the back end needs to be planted better, i just use weight distribution. just set it 10 clicks above the lowest as far as ride height. i would still recommend modifying the settings to your liking, my drifting style is pretty whacky.

cheers buddy, my car is now oh so very much more slidy lol (and hard to get goin without spinning a si dont have pedals and a steering wheel :indiff: )

im still ahve porbs gtting my 800hp N1 to drift......but then again im trying to drift on Racing and sport tires

Yeah, I always use racing tires, so I haven't found a car/setup that's AWD that I can actually drift. If someone can recommend a good AWD setup using Racing Tires, I would be forever grateful, maybe I'll make a request in the depot too.
 
I took my 744 HP R34 (N1 version?) out to Trial Mountain with Super Hard Racing Tires all around and soft suspension settings. I could feint drift it pretty easily, but I found myself needing to use the e-brake to extend my drifts, along with lots of feinting. I also found that full throttle mid-drift created massive understeer, is there any way to fix this without using ASM?

Use all round tires.

Btw, the amount of power some people are using amazes me. Most of my AWD cars just have a muffler change and N2's.

Now that turbo lag is very apparent in GT4, it only strengthens my love for NA motors.

Seriously, with high boost pressure turbochargers it's like, "holy crap, where's my torque?"

The R34 drifts nicely though.

It's almost like FR and 8000rpms is more than enough.

Very smooth ride as well.

A shame the 1995 Le Mans NSX GT1 Turbo didn't make it into the game.

8500rpm twin turbo.

Woulda/coulda/shoulda been a famous car if it didn't drop out of the race so soon.
