After the latest Time Trial involving the Nordschleife and the Corvette prototype, I decided I'd give the 'Ring another go in Arcade Mode with the '07 GTR R35, to see if I could beat that 7:29.xxx time. Driving the 'Vette around the 'Ring so many times to finally gold that event gave me a new approach and a new appreciation, so I thought I'd take my shot. Previously, I'd tried this several times, and my best was a decidedly poor 7:51.xxx, so I didn't have high hopes.

Anyway, I had a few red laps - slipped off, hit a wall, etc., but those were in the 7:31 to 7:33 range, so I'd already found nearly 20 seconds just by changing my approach and style. Four or five laps in, I finally nailed it - 7:27.668.

For those who've struggled and finally managed to tame the 'Vette prototype on the 'Ring, now go give that GTR another try if you haven't cleared that trophy yet. It's faster around the track on the same tires, while having lower top speeds and being quite a bit easier to handle.

That's a great suggestion mate, cheers! :) it could be the sheer amount of laps brings knowledge too but I suspect it's a bit of both.

I noticed the GTR can brake much deeper into the corners than the 'Vette, and get on the gas much earlier and still stick, due to its AWD system. If you run with the driving line on, you'll notice several brake zones that you barely even have to lift for at all. Between the two, I'd have to say the GTR is the easier challenge, despite needing to be done more than 20 seconds faster.

Hope it helps someone else who hasn't cleared that Arcade challenge yet!

and i i believe this...

the Corvette C7 Prototype Nürburgring Nordschleife Time Trial...
It's very good driving school to learning the Ring...
and because this car, C7 prototype, is little difficult to drive very fast on tight curves (specifically at the entrance of turns), even with sport hard tires where have lot of grip, is a real challenge...

then with a better or easier car, someone going more quickly surely

I agree - the Corvette challenge really made the GTR feel easy by comparison. It's surprising how much the 'Vette moves around on its tires when they're both running Sports Hard tires; the Nissan just feels so sure-footed.

you're right...
I think the suspension setup of prototype Corvette quite soft and leisurely and is not so suitable for racing circuits... like the last Vette ZR1 for example, where is lap time warrior, but sure again more difficult than sophisticated AWD traction and balance from amazing R35 GT-R...

I absolutely agree here. Driving the C7 on SH tires is tricky but not impossible. Great car to go with if you want to learn the track because it's not that fast.
