McRae and Makkinen are out. Hit a rock, Sainz is struggling too.

Gronholm leads from Auriol and Burns.

At this point Burns wins. Go Subaru (and my resale!)

You guys are getting live coverage in Australia?

The Rallyof GB used to be really great. (Followed it round the contry 2 years on the run) It went everywhere, The middlelands ,Yorkshire, Scotland & Wales, a real route. It should now realy be called the RAC rally of South Wales cos that is all they go to.

Ha! I wish!

I was following it at www.rallylive.com

That said, Foxtel is running the WRC TV package the following morning, so I follow it on the web at night, and watch the TV highlights in the morning.

Did anyone see McRae's rollover? Talk about turnover with pike!!

Ah, Rally-Live is an excellent site. We'll get it on TV Dec. 10th on Speedvision (I assume it's the same "WRC TV package" that you guys get?).

He's a New Zealander - and yes there's a big difference. Think the Canada/US thing. Most effective way to upset a Kiwi is to ask if they're from Australia.

Of course, Possum's only won like 5 straight Australian Rally Championships....

This has to be the first year for as long as I can remember that I haven't watched any of the tv coverage of the rally. I am a bit guuted that Burns won even though I am English because I would have prefured McRae to have walked away with the title.

I have heard that Burns move to Peugeot is in doubt because of a clause in his Subaru contract that says they have first option on the 2002 drive and that Dave Richards is going to take it up.

Just returned from Wales....

Yeah was a good rally (Its impossible for you not to enjoy watching the WRC in the flesh) but it wasn't the classic that we'd all hoped for. Colin McRae was certainly the peoples champion. I was actually standing less than 200 metres away from his accident spot. Truly frightening that he was flat in sixth (110mph) when he clipped that rock.       Not sure if any of you saw the footage from the outside of the car but if you did it still can't convey how high he flipped his Focus into the air!!!!! I was a little suprised when he walked out of the car and sat in the hedge for a little while, we got a chance to see him for a bit before the team helicopter dropped in and picked him up. After that it was all a bit of an empty fight. Only McRae jnr. seemed to wanna play hard...

Soon as I got pics back I'll stick them on a site somewhere!
