Not neccesarily. There is a pretty wide variation of performance among the AI in a given race that is probably more related to AI throttle/brake and steering input than tire grip, and any observation of a race to determine AI tire grade would be speculation at best.

hmm...what does mild tyre wear mean????

to put tyre wear consumation on medium...or that AI cars got to wear mild tyres???

The arcade races allow tire wear - rate of tire consumption - to be set to mild, medium, or strong, do they not? In this case the tire consumption would be set to the lowest setting.

In NTSC, the options are Mild and (whatever the faster wear is called!). Maybe it's called something different in PAL?

There is still no finality here. Can our drivers swap tires or must they stick to the A.I's type of tires?

I don't no what is the confusion with the tires..

I'm the driver who chose this race and for me ''tires open'' it's everything so you choose the tires exemple hard tires and after , in the other options ( where you see the gearbox, power etc ) you can change it. So the front tires can be different then the others tires back..

So we can have different strategies

*My english is bad so my captain will confirm it

Duke ammended the rules yesterday:

1.4.17: Tires: All Scenarios may include a specified Tire Compound for the Driver's car and a specified Tire Wear option (off or on with strength) for Arcade Mode races. Proposals shall include this information. In Arcade Mode races, AI tire compound is at the discretion of the Driver.

The question was whether we were allowed to force the AI to use bad tires by entering the race on hard tires (so the AI matched them) and then switched to softer tires in the settings screen (leaving the AI on hard tires).

So we have to stay with the first tires we see in the first selection screen ?

anyway man , with bad or good tires , there's no difference, the IA are not good, so...

I don't want to be disqualified a another time ( wrong car last year )

There's your answer. That last sentence.

@ Duke : Juste to make sur there is no confusion here and to make it clear with my driver.

AI Tires are at the discretion of the drivers, so when the driver enter the race he may choose any tire he wants so AI have those tire for the entire races, That's right ???

Driver's tires open for that races, that how we made our proposal , so no probleme after entering the race, in the quick tuning, the driver can choose any tire he wants to make is race. ????

Tire Wear option, we put it at mild,( i do have 3 options of Tires wear), i will check it out at home to make sur there is no mistake so we can have a consensus on that one ???

Thanks, Béru

That is also correct. You can post what names your version has in this thread and we will confirm it.

The 3 options in NTSC are "Off," "Mild," and "Strong."

Yes that's right, none, mild or strong.

By the way, thanks for your answer.

One last Question, i remembre we where talking about the AI Difficulty, we should set it at -10 cause there is no way to cleraly check it or we keep it at +5 like we proposed it ???

Thanks, Béru

AI Difficulty should be set to however it is in the Race description. +5 means +5. :)
Duke confirmed this in the Admin forum, but I couldn't find it in the rules anywhere. Hopefully he can add it into the rules when he returns.

thanks :sly:

This is what i tought to and did look at the rules.

We want to make it sur, cause last year Schumi got DQ for some mistake like that and we don't want that to happen again, specialy on the long race, so much km to acheive a good chrono.

Set the difficulty to as prescribed and it's over before the first lap. Some race, it's nothing more than 9 1/2 hot laps strung together.
