Who's got the time to race 30, 40, or 50 laps! Are all the good races this long. GT2 had enduro races but most of the good, fun competative races were not something that took 1hr to finish.
GT2's "main events" were 5 lap races, no pit stops, no tire changes, and loads of fun. Seems to me thats only an arcade mode type thing.

i like 10 lap races in arcade. everyone has to pit :) the ai cant put on race tires and just go 10 laps, tho some cars will go 8 like the vx220.
therefore i use normal tires too and it make it interesting. i pit 1-3 times depending on the car used.
i also get to use my cars (which are stock) but with my chioce of wheels :D

Just do what i do... Take all day to do a 50 lap race... just 5-10 laps at a time then go do whatever then come back do 5-10 laps...

I've run teh Tokyo enduro so many times, that I damaged the tendons in my right thumb. yes, all teh good races are long. That's what makes them enjoyable. Yo uhave to use more than raw horsepower to win a race.

Heck, it takes me 5 laps to get warmed up, and 5 more to get in the groove. How can you polish your driving or tinker with your settings without a nice long session behind the sticks?

Insane! I only done this once by long time ago. I do remember it like yesterday. Oh, how I used to complain of it's long race and whined that 100 laps should be on Midfield instead or the laps should be reduce to about 50 to 65 between.
Of course, the race was easy.

By any chance, did you get F094/H? Curiously.

I must be obsessed, its ok to me tho, because I did all the enduros in one swing. It took me a good 32 hours straight of GT3 - ing. But, I slept for a day afta it. I was glad to get rid of em.

In the multiple times I've run this, I've never won the F094 from this race. But then I wasn't really running it to win a car, just to beat a time. How's this sound, running a three hour race, shaving 1'30 off your previous time, and missing the challenge time by 25 seconds. Which meant I had to race it again trying to make up that 25 seconds in over 100 laps. That's 1/4 of a second faster each lap. Ever have a lap that's 3 seconds slower than the previous one? Yep, that just blew 16 laps that I ran at a faster pace.

Tough does not describe it.

However, the longer races and race series make enduros less of a bear to endure. In fact, it takes less time to win prize cars from enduros than some of the Professional series like the GT All-Stars, JGTC, and World Champs.

That's said, I need to finally finish my SSR11 enduro...I've been on pause for over an hour now.

I'll take a week to finish long series. Sometimes my PS2 will sit on pause for a day or two because I'm too tired to even finsih a race. There's no hurry.

Good to know I can trust it to stay on pause...can't do that with a PSX without a meltdown.

Yeah, that great big fan really helps (:

Unless you're going for a spacific car. Then the series are better because you can just reload from that last race and try again. The endurance you have to run completely over again.

HI wb :
:D And since no one else has said it Welcome to GTP Forums !!! Ask good questions / get good answers. Must agree w/DerAlta & Neon Duke, IMO the Enduros are by far the BEST part of the game. Wish that PD would have omitted the WORTHLESS Test Course & added another Enduro Circuit or two. Fantastic challenge to attempt beating Tokyo 246 w/an "even powered" or "under-powered" ride. Getting to 100% is really no big deal, so if you find the Enduros too long or too boring, fortget 'em. JMO...UB57
:D

did have a short brake for a quick fag but didn't venture into the pits once, sim tyres don't degrade in the same manner as slicks so there is no real difference in lap times just running mid high 1'38's to low 1'40s all race....just wanted to see if it was possible

On SIM tyres? You double loony!

I only managed mid-80s with a Speed 12 on racing tyres!

What I hate about most of the enduros is you can never find the right car to race them. That's what I loved so much about GT2. If one car was too fast, and another too slow, you could just make one from most of the cars with the "Racing Mod."

Unlike with the race cars that were provided as race cars, you could use all the parts, not just the "racing" parts to adjust the HP, or performance to make it ideal for any race you wanted to race it in.

True, you can use a heavly modded normal car in GT3, but to me it's just not the same as running a real race car with other race cars. The enduros are going to be much more fun for me in GT4 now that racing mods will make it back in.

Now this is, to me, why the best three races/series in the entire game are the Trial Mountain enduro (non-modified road cars only), the Apricot Hill enduro (non-modified MX-5s only) and the PD Cup (non-modified road cars only).

Yea, those are my favs as well. I just did the Apricot Hill enduro with the Mazdas. I did something by habit before I started though, and it didn't make the race fun for me. I changed the oil, and slapped on some T3s.

I won that race lapping the RS and regular MX-5s by three laps, and I almost lapped the two LSs by that much too. That's a fun race, normally, but next time I'll hold off on the tires and oil change.

I don't like the PD cup... i like the close competition but i don't want to be forced to use certain cars, I feel the PD cup should be for cars under like 250 HP or something like that so you can tune cars a bit

Wow, nice write up there UB57. I just tried that race with the stock Calsonic, and that car is just a little to fast for me. I think I'll use what I used for the 300K enduro. It was the Toyota MR-S SuperAutoBacs Race Car with 400HP.

With a stock Calsonic I noticed your best time was 1:37:847. My best lap when I tried the "qualify" was 1:35:938. I was 2 seconds ahead of the Raybrig and the end of two laps around. This car for me wont be much of a challenge, so I'm going to use the MR-S, or a stock Calibra. 👍

Kool !!! 👍
:D Let us know how you make out. Gil has considered using the "C-West Sylvia" but don't know if he's done it yet or not...UB57

Believe it, or not, I have never tried that car. I don't think I ever won it. You give me a good idea though, thanks.

I've raced, and won, the PD Cup with cars as lame (stock) as the VX220/Speedster, Elise 190 and Integra Type-R. I've also won it with the Speed 12, TS020, Ruf CTR2, Nismo 400R, XJ220 Race Car, Lotus Esprit Sport 350 (and so on).

Now assuming the worst car you can win it in is the Integra Type-R (the Tommy kaira ZZ-S has less power, but has a significant handling advantage), imagine that you can use ANY standard road car in the game to win this series. Now that's hardly "being forced to use certain cars"...

Looks like I'll beat Bollocks here...

Try our 100 laps of Complex String, the 4 hour Apricot Enduro, or the Laguna Seca 500 (225 laps) on for size...Bollocks completed all of them, I completed all except for Apricot, and MM completed all. I think someone else did the 4 hours though.

The 100 laps of CS took me the longest with a total time of just over eight hours. With only about an hours break...

I tried to make that race challenging, but the AI can't even hold a decent line on that track.
I've tackled most of those 10 race amateur series with modestly (the same bhp or less depending on the cars weight and engine type) tuned roadcars and it's been pretty challenging. Although the only Pro championship i'm looking forward to is the PD cup and maybe the Yaris cup.
