I can definitely see how a time of sub-8 minutes is possible.

I made a LOT of unforgivable mistakes and got:

We could probably break 7 mins if we are allowing RED laps :sly::sly::sly:

Mua haha aha ha ha!

You're right, I shouldn't allow red laps, that's what happened when I slipped into the sand pit, would probably also have happened when I lost control and went two tires over the grass.

I won't win any prize, but i'm going to re-qualify myself with a blue lap anyway :P

Good call - never thought about that!

I think 2 tyres on the grass stays blue, you have to go cross country to get red or to the beach :)

Wow... I suck... lol... I was at 8:10 coming down the long straight and cooling down I lost it on the left bend right before the sharp right.... FLIP!!!! lmao

Great Race BTW!!!!

Give it some time, my 1st clean lap was 8:28, it's fun but frustrating, I use a touch of handbrake but unfortunately the traction at 5 doesn't lend itself to handbrake use ;)

Yeah, the Ring is always a challenge... lol... And the DFGT wheel makes it fun... lol... I usually switch between the DFGT and my controller (I have a Logitech Cordless Precision)... I actually like the Precision controller... though I d-pad steer when on the controller (GT1 anyone... lmao).

I may try the ring with the controller as I have more practice with it ;)

Part of the reason I chose the SL55 AMG was because this car is all about throttle control. A truly skilled driver could whip this thing around no problem. Also, I found that when I focused more on throttle control than speed, it seemed like overall I was going slower but my lap time actually improved by 11 seconds.

Another reason is that I'm a huge fan of AMG's. :)

Cant forget shifting and braking control ;)

I need to sort one of these wheel things i hear so much about, 8:10 with DS3, sure i could knock a bit more time off, if i don't stuff the last chicane again :grumpy:

i'll try again at the weekend, not sure i can get much quicker but will give it a shot 👍

Igwyana wins!

Give me about 2 days to send you your prize car. Congratulations for taming the beast!
