who else in here wishes that u could b-spec some of the rallies? I like doing them but man some of them just take too long, and sometimes I just like to watch my driver smoke the other peoples a**

that would be a good idea imo 👍

just out of curiosity, how do you actually increase your b-spec points? and the more you have the better the b-spec driver right?

just race in b-spec mode more. But, don't race the same race over again cause rumor has it they won't give u more points.

That seems to be Correct! 👍 I've used B-Spec the most for the "Cash Cow" German Touring Car Championship & noticed the last few rounds that there has been no increase in B-Spec points.
An interesting thread going here but I feel I must really add my 2 cents worth. IMHO I think you're all "Over Thinking" the whole B-Spec deal. I'll quote my examples & then my conclusion:

TOYOYTA 88C-V Race Car (MINOLTA) '89
at LeSarthe 24 Hours: "I" could walk away from the competiton with NO Mods except for tyres but my B-Spec Driver drove off the end of the Mulsanne Straight EVERY LAP! :irked:
Toyota GT-1 Race Car (Black) at LeSarthe 24 Hours: Same exact scenario as above except, I could hit 259-264 MPH thru the "Kink" while the B-Spec :dunce: could never go above 225 MPH! :irked:

Then picking up a little "Clue" I found in another Forum I returned ALL the Settings to "Default." Used the Toyota GT-1 Race Car (Black) again & won by a bit over 4 Laps. NOT ONCE did it go off into the Sand!

Next I used the FORD GT Concept '02 won at Tsukuba Circuit / Wet with only a Tyre swap (I'm NOT 100% sure about the tyres & can not check ATM) but I know there were NO Upgrades & NO Tuning. Won the 4 Hours of Nurburgring quite handily. :)

As stated I've done the German Touring Car Championship numerous times as per the instructions. Then I used the same "Well Worn" Ride to do the 24 Hours of Nurburgring. Won easily, again w/NO Tuning!

Right now I'm using a Used "Black" MAZDA 737b at the Fuji 1000KMs. In the preview I saw some top flyte machinery so added a turbo & changed the tyres. Drove a few Laps to adjust ONLY the Final Drive. Then using a "Clue" found in this thread I let the B-Spec driver Practice for 4-5 Laps. I've run the ENTIRE RACE at Setting #5/"Overtake" & he's NOT ONCE made a false move! 👍 Currently on Lap #215 of 228 & 7 Laps up on everyone. 👍

"MY" CONCLUSION: The B-Spec guy CAN drive well w/"STOCK SETTINGS" BUT can NOT drive worth a 🤬 if you've altered them in any major way!

THANX for wading thru all this! 👍 Hope it makes some sense ...O.G. :D

BTW: I only have about 4600 B-Spec points!

This B-spec thing is horrible. Yamauchi san could've done a much better job. There are so many people on here saying that all they do is leave it on 5 and the bspec wins. I have almost 8000 points and it still cannot drive worth a danm on 5. By no means am I calling anyone a liar. NOT AT ALL! It's just, how can one game be so different than the next? Everyone's supposed to have the same thing. And trust me, it is THAT different. I don't use level 5 ever! Gaurantied the ai will overshoot EVERY turn it comes to. If I put it on 5 it will even go wide and spin on turn 1 at Super Speedway!! Every freakin' time!!! Why is mine so different from others?
And I'm not even going to talk about the stress created from trying to bspec the GT World Championship. That was just...no, not even gonna say anything.

If anyone from PD is reading this particular thread, (I know you guys frequent this board. It is one of, if not, the largest on the web) PLEASE take note!!! Bspec is FAR from perfect and needs to be totally reworked! I hate to say it, but, YOU MESSED UP!!!

Hey fish, I don't blame you, when I set it yo setting 5, the driver spins out/crashes, you name it and he probably did it. But if I set him on 4 then switch to 3 after he gets 1st place, then he drives like a pro with no mistakes.

Can't get my B-Spec guy to alot of the races from the Formula GT Cup (and I can't get the S-Liscence to do it myself cause I suck at the rally and snow courses....badly)

I have ~8000 B-Spec points, and my driver is probably better than I am lol. The car I use is the GT-R mentioned in my sig, and it certainly isnt stock. I have it tricked out with just about everything. I have it tuned for maximum grip also. I can even set this car out in the GT World Championship and fair very well.

I'm almost at 8000 B-Spec as well, but all the other races compared to the F1 GT Championship are child's play. My Nismo R34 R-Tune Skyline can wipe the floor in all the races that don't involve race/F1 cars. Try entering your N1 in the Formula One GT races and see the AI make you look silly too!

did anyone try with the speedster, insteed of the speedster turbo?
when fully modded, it has a better power:weight, it has 20 or so less HP but makes up for it in weight

My bspec driver is one point ahead in the F1 races. He may or may not win the championship, so I'll probably have to do it when I get s-license. I have to watch him carefully and have a good pit strategy to have a podium finish.

The game is more about you driving, wouldn't be much to a game that you just sit and watch. Bspec is just there for endurances races really.

Slightly out of topic, but how you get b-spec points up?

My 'tooldriver's points has halted into 4372 points.
I've raced few endurance races with different cars but he doesn't develope himself more further.

I have for myself 4520 a-spec points, but does it matter for b-spec points too?
Or should I give it some more challenge by giving not so easy car?

Well I have over 8000 and machine skill 93 track and battle skills 76, how I got the most points is to get that big dodge ram hemi put a chip in it and stage 2 N/A tune racing suspention and took my b-spec driver to all the easyer races like clubman cup. He won't win right away but since it is sooo heavy he will still get points something like 30 for 6th place 200 for a win. So no worries every race he'll get more points and do better retry untill he wins then move on to the next track. My B-spec driver (Juan Pablo) is amazing he only lost 2 of the F1 races and both were 2nd place finishes. I also had him do all the easyer races with a mazda 6 had him do races over and over till he won, that gave him skill points also but the Hemi truck realy is the fastest point earner.

I've searched and not found a topic on this so hopefully the mods will approve.

I'm not that far into GT4 yet (13%) but I've just completed the Opel Speedster Cup on A-Spec...... I then tried to earn a bit more cash by running it again in B-Spec to find that my B-Spec driver can't win any of the races. The best he usually does is come in 4th or 5th place!

He has around 3500 skill and the Speedster Turbo I'm using is fully modded (can't make it any more powerful or lighter).

This got me wondering firstly is it possible to beat the Speedster Cup in B-Spec and if not are there any other races that CAN'T be beaten in B-Spec mode?
I think u have to set the b spec driver so that he drives at a fast pace.

My B-spec driver mostly has problems with Suzuka, 9 times out of 10 he comes off at that hard right just before the bridge, I have eve tried lowering the pace to 'reduced' (3) before the corner, but he will still loose it. He also doesn't make good starts. I can start the race and pass the field before the first bend (60/70 A-spec points 'field') he may be able to get to 5th or may be 4th. He also does 3 point turns to get back on the track, usually getting T-boned by the rest of the field in the process

I have 7800 B-spec points and I cant leave my driver on 5 either and when I do he typically runs slower then when he is on 3 or 4 because of all the mistakes he makes. I use 5 for the first 15 seconds or so to pass as many people as possible then move it to 3 or 4 depending on the number of laps in the race and my competition. There are a few tracks like Infineon that have turns that I have to switch him to 1 on, then back to 3 /4 after the turn, or he will still go in the grass every time.

My biggest complaint is the AI though on the high speed ring he will be 234 mph and slam into the back of a car going 20 mph slower instead of going around him. It get frustrating!!!

Lo! Here's an idea that's always worked for me ( don't know if it's already been posted!) : Go to the practice screen and qualify. It has yet to fail me, and it takes about five minutes. My driver hasn't lost a race yet when I qualify.

Thanks! :sly:

The Opel Speedster Cup races can be won on B-Spec, but you need to do some tweaking to ensure that you do win. I have just got Gold on B-Spec on all these races (finally won the Opel Calibra Touring Car) after spending a couple of hours going through various tweaks (which is how I came across these forums :) ). There is a thread in the 'Settings' forum here that gives you a very good insight on what settings are required. I also used another persons settings as well in combination, and after 5 or 6 attempts, got a Gold in the 2nd race (which was proving to be a pig). Each race after that took a couple of attempts to make sure tyre choice was correct and pace speed of the B-Spec driver. Once that was sorted out and corners that the car spins off on faster paces were memorised (to remember to drop down to 2 to make sure that no spin-offs happen) each race was easily won by over 10 seconds (361BHP Stage 4 Opel Speedster Turbo).
I was also thinking that these races were impossible in B-Spec until I tried the settings suggested here.
BTW my B-Spec driver is on over 8000 points at 66.3% game completion.

Alight, I'll throw my two cents into this one. I've got 47.5% complete 6314 Bspec points and 9995 Bspec miles logged, so I think I can comment on this one....

Anyway, this is what I've discovered using Bspec mode:

1. Practice. Practice. Practice. If you want your b-spec driver to be good you need to give him lots of cars to drive at different tracks. Slow cars, fast cars. Big cars small cars. The worst mistake you can make is to buy a car and immeadiately try to Bspec a race with it. He drives horribly when he drives a car for the first time.

2. Set the cars up right. I'm not really sure why people have come to think that you should leave everything in it's original setting, but in my experiece I've always set the car up properly and then given it to the B-spec driver to drive. Some of the original settings render the cars undriveable, or unstopable. Do you really think you should not adjust the brake balance? Or set the transmission? :boggled:

3. Pay attention. In close races, or those where you don't have a large HP advantage paying close attention is key. Use the "5, PUSH" setting sparingly. As was said before it seems to increase the drivers stress. Make sure he pits at the right time( I noticed in the 24hr 'ring endro that unless I told him to pit, he'd push it one lap to many). Once he's in the lead back him off to steady or cruise if you have a wide enough margin. I haven't noticed him being pulled off the racing line when overtake is left on after he is in the lead so I can't say it makes a difference.

Those are the most important things I've noticed. My B-spec driver has only not come in first on two occasions so I think my strategy works sufficently.

I don't believe PD screwed up with B-spec. Quite the contrary, I think it's a great and necessary addition to the game. If well managed, it works great. 👍

What I've found is that if I can't win in Bspec with a low power car, it's usually because I need stickier tires.

Well b-spec mode is just for endurance races like others say. How many of you play gran turismo first since it came out in 1996-7. I do and can just say this game is very long and hard to finish. The previous 3 were easy if you think about it except the b-spec now that it has. In the other versions you could hit the walls and win the rally with a skyline....;)) I have 58% and now the driving missions a DRIVING me insane guys...................Can't go beyond mission number 12...........aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah :ouch: :scared: :grumpy:

yeah the tires will give you alot of grip and usually if you test your car at the 1/4mile you will see the difference between super soft and medium tires......plus the setup is good to do...........not in every car.....the f1 gran turismo formula my driver is hitting the corners at every track perfectly because of the quality formula 1 has.

I am, right now as I write this, using the B-SPEC driver in the 24hr Nurbergring (too lazy to drive it fully myself so I am taking turns between A and B...........while on B-SPEC I am also taking advantage of the 3x fast forward. This is the first time I have used B and it is actually running great (beautiful lines and passing aggressively and pushing hard when other cars won't move). It even pits at the exact same time I use it while on A, without my intervention!!
Even when the tire wear is at the "red" my AI driver keeps great lines and doesn't slide or spin out (I like milking the tires if you have a substantial lead) like I usually do with no tread........and this is keeping it at fast, not needing the cruise or steady buttons!!

Your game could be letting you know that it wants YOU to win the Opel race without having to rely on the AI..............after all, this is what the GT series is all about!!!
