I think it would be an awesome addition to the game, however I think it would be better to have the NASCAR truck series added as well :)

I remember "super trucks"! It was a fun game.

Why not add it? If you don't want it don't play it. I have yet to race the F1 Ferrari seasonal because I see no point to it. But I'm not putting it down and teling people what I think of it

What about Dakar trucks, I can't imagine the licence would cost too much either.

I would also like to see these

I had one on PS2, can't remember what it was called though.

Camaroyenko
This is for tractor trailers. That one is for pickup trucks.

There are trucks of that nature as well

Do you mean NASCAR Trucks? Was thinking about that the other day, would be a cool idea :)

Truck racing? What? Can we go offroad with it?

maybe you need to bring your backside to the states and go for a ride in one of those "yanking crap roundy roundy" cars. might change your mind when your butt is in traffic 6" apart at 180+mph.
Also did you ever wonder why all these big name drivers from other racing disciplines are trying it? AND most of them don't make it? Go ask JPM how hard it is going from an F1 car to a NASCAR stocker.
old addage comes to mind..... "Don't knock it till you try it" and also "before you judge someone walk a mile in their shoes"

No thanks ill stay in Australia With v8 supercars. How go 250kph+ around the streets of city's between concrete walls. Oh and those drivers like Marcos Ambrose who was very successful v8 supercar driver and goes to NASCAR and wins the races on proper tracks with left and right hand corners.

You're winner

In fairness, exactly how many NASCAR drivers have done well in a different racing series? I'd also like to know how many NASCAR fans say F1 is crap?

I hate nascar. F-1 is the ****! I iust wish the states gave it the same amount of love they do to nascar. Its really surpriseing to me that no power house nyc marketing firm hasnt sunk their teeth into S. Vettal and made him a household name here in the states. He has everything going for him

"Has there ever been a video game with racing trucks?"

Yes, all three DiRT games. The first DiRT had the gigantic big rigs you're looking for, while DiRT 2 and DiRT 3 were more focused on trophy trucks.

I think we may be approaching the crux here...

The best drivers can jump in anything and be competitive, with practice, and provided they're not handicapped by a rubbish car. Other drivers are better suited to certain types of racing, for different reasons. NASCAR is different, and that's what makes it so good, like every other series. Oddly enough, GT is a celebration of diversity in motor cars.

Anyway, on topic: yes to truck racing. Hell yes.
Huh, déjà vu. Wasn't there another thread like this recently?

@ tfed, you love F1 so much that you mis-spell Vettel's name?

Unfortunately, you could never filter out stupidity.

Filtering out the X1 would go a long way to filtering stupidity.

Trucks could be implemented into Gt5, without the problems of them kids crashing into you.

Just like the F1 Ferrari's.

Or the other 1000 cars in the game...

Give them a sled, and they will crash into you.

Oh I would love Race Trucks! We already have Karts, Open-wheeler, Touring Cars, Prototypes, almost everything, so why not.

And if they do implement them, give us some classic trucks too, and US trucks.

I meant touring trucks like the ones from my first post.

The trucks from Dirt 1 were cool though 👍

It would suck!! Online would be ruined by kids thrashing around ramming everything and everyone...

No thank you

No it wouldn't especially if you limit it to racing trucks only, like you can with F1, Karts and Nascar. If the host doesn't do it and the race is ruined by a mack truck running all the exotic cars over...it's the host fault and a laugh riot to watch.

Nascar truck racing and touring-style rigs would be fun, but I would like to see more production performance trucks like the Dodge SRT-8, Dakota R/T, GMC Cyclone and Typhoon and the like. There were a couple of truck specific races in GT5 and the choices were rather limited, with one being a 4x4 model which has gear ratios designed for off-road and towing, not racing. I wouldn't expect a car racing game to include many trucks, but since it did, they might as well offer trucks designed for performance.

Filtering out the X1 would go a long way to filtering stupidity.

That would increase stupidity exponentially. Banning a car for no reason doesn't exactly sound smart. That goes for trucks too.

I've already mentioned many times before I'd love to see some of those racetrucks from the FIA European Truck Racing series appear.
It'll offer something genuinely different from anything currently in the game and those trucks are a challenge to drive in their own right, not to mention they seem enormous fun.
Personally I wouldn't even mind regular trucks or commercial vehicles in general but since that opens up a completely new category which perhaps isn't appreciated by most I think those purpose-build high performance race trucks would suit a game like GT more for being not that different to get used to.
Bring on those diesel fume spewing monsters I'd say. :)

So negative... You know not every room is full of 10 yr old kids

Anyway I think it would be fun. Something different :D

Ahhh yes!!! I thought I remember'd trucks in one of the TOCA games!

i must be lucky because i rarely see a room with a bunch of careless kids...but then again, i bet they're all sleeping at 2am:dopey:

but i would love more trucks!
