i will be getting a racing wheel this christmas, and i would like ot know what are good cheap tables to use, i looked around for computer tables and etc, but i found one i kinda but would like to see if anyone can send me a link to some good desks.

Wrong fourm, put it in the sim wheels and racing cockpits form. This is for the website help

Just get a Frederik type desk from IKEA with the board you like. It's easy, cheap and universal. Plus it has enough leg room. ;)

I suggest just build one.

Pros:
- Pleasure of making
- Comfort (you decide how far the pedals/wheel/shifter/seat will be etc)
- Cost

Cons:
- Requires craftsmanship and free time

He wasn't asking on how to build a rig I believe, he just wanted a nice desk to attach his wheel to. Unless I read it wrong.

Plus I have another con for you, it's that you need space to work on your rig/desk.

Wheelstand pro, they are quite expensive but well worth the money.

It does say wheel stand in the thread title though..

In which case I suggest the Fanatec Rennsport stand, solid and super.

If it is a desk your after, something like this:

Pretty much the same as mine before I got the Rennsport, rooms for the pedals underneath and clamp the wheel to the keyboard tray.

Hrm... true. Confusing to say the least. I hope the OP will respond soon so everyone knows for sure.

About that desk, if it was me i'd leave the keyboard tray off. I hate those things. Just give me a normal old fashioned desk, simple and effective.

Well, to throw in the a wheelstand... the Apiga AP2: http://www.apiga.com.hk/en/ap2.html

They are annoying but from experience, mounting the wheel to the tray gives a slightly better angle and height compared to mounting it to the top. That's just based on my experience with my old desk.

Maybe a height adjustable desk would be better then? They aren't that expensive when you look in the right places.

thanks guys for the reply's to this, if there was any confusion om sorry. I really was just trying to say, a good mount for a wheel, but it has to be cheap very sturdy, i am low on money due to the holidays. but thanks for all the suggestions, ill try the IKEA desks, and if to me its no good, then ill just make a trip to home depot, and get the supplies

I made one out of Aluminium pipe one weekend with my friend, it cost roughly $25(Canadian) in materials and I haven't looked back since. I almost ordered a Wheel Stand Pro and I'm glad I didn't. Mine is about the same size as a WSP and quite frankly it looks better(not trying to sound biased) because it's painted red and black to match the racing seat I use with it, and it's probably just as sturdy, if not sturdier. So, if you're good at building and tinkering or know somebody who is( or you're cheap:p) then build your own, if you just want to buy one and don't care for building, get a WSP. There are pictures of my stand somewhere in the post your setup and mancave thread if you're interested.

I use a generic costco folding card table, found at target, etc for ~ $35...perfect leg height and can be folded to under an inch to slide under or behind a couch when not in use

Do you have anything around your house or any friends house that has some old small tables or something? I have this small table thing i found in my attic :)

It's amazing at what we can make when we put our mind to it, Here's one of my rigs.
