hey, just to share my opinon/idea about this..after hearing about the weather effects and watching a Kaido Battle video,I was thinkin'...what if they had it in GT4 to where if you raced in first person and it was raining, rain could get on your windshield?Wouldn't that be soooo awsome and realistic?Of course they'd have to give you a windshieldwiper button to config on the controller, but still..that would be so cool eh?Well, just thought I'd share this idea with you guys,so give me some feedback please ^_^!

and be sure to share your ideas as well =D

That'd Be Freakin' Awesome!

ah!I see that someone agrees with me ^_^,cool.Yes,that WOULD be sooooo awsome if they did that, but I don't know...I guess we'll just have to wait and see =P.Hurry up GT4!

That would be pretty sweet but I would just like to see different kinds of weather in gt4. Like racing in the rain on any track instead of just one. Seeing the weather change during the race. Now that would add some realism.

yeah,I was thinking of alot of in deatail type developments they could do,here's a few I've been thinking of ----

1. while racing an endurance race, the sun could start to set (you know how long them races last ^_^,it's possible) or if they have a course like Special Stage Route 11,then when it gets dark enough, all the street lights come on

2. while you're in the middle of racing,it could start to rain, then a couple of laps later it could lighten up a bit

3. have dead leaves on the road from them falling from trees (be careful for them!very dangerous!)

4. snowing in most likely places, not just in a place where it'd most likely be ALWAYS hot in.

5. better night races, such as racing under the moonlight maybe?

that's all I've seem to come up with so far,but I think most of them would be pretty awsome, and if they need room to make these weather effects, then bring back the old 2 disc, hehe

I like those ideas. ;) They coulda done more with GT3 if they used a second cd like GT2.

it would be even better if it effected the cars performance so you drift around all over the place when its raining:D

good point Supra ^_^,chaning the cars performance, depending on weather conditions.Like an FR,such as the AE86 Trueno, racing in snow...against an AWD vehicle, such as an R32...the R32 is gonna have the advantage cause it uses ALL of it's wheels to turn, rather than the FR just using the rear wheels,so very good point Supra,I believe I just made one myself =D

I really like the sound of races under moonlight, they could make that look REALLY sweet.
Also, any weather on any track would make the game last 2 to 3 times longer so I'd be very happy if that were put in. Just imagine it. A track like, i don't know, Deepforest, for instance, it would look completely different for starters if it were covered in snow. All white, everywhere. And then the snow being kicked up by the car ahead pulling off as you and it struggle to find traction. I think I might be getting my hopes up. Fingers crosses anyway.

i think they will add weather effevts for GT4 as they did it in GT3 e.g. special stage route 5 wet- that looked amazing when the track was covered in water it really showed off the graphics.

good idea about having snow in deep forest:cheers:

your idea about deep forest was cool =D.I have something to add to that as well though,if you don't mind, hehe.Well,as we all know...Deep Forest has that name for one good reason....there are many trees,correct?Well...here's what I was thinkin'....how bout they make it to where snow can also fall off the limbs of trees as well?I'm not talkin' like a GIANT snowball comes crashing down on top of your car or anything like that, but like, snow flakes ya know?I think that would be pretty cool *sniffs around* I smell Gran Turismo 4 "Christmas Edition"!Oh yeah, one more thing...if they still have Cote' ad Zure (or however you spell it =P) in the game, then when you're goin' by,they should have the waves rippling back and forth, instead of just having it look like a long flat land of water ya know.Well, that's just my output on it though, but great idea ^_^

Yeah and how cool would it be if the snow off track was deeper than the snow on track and if you went off you made tracks in the deeper snow and piled it up?
Also, I was thinking if they can do snow, why not night-time snow races? With proper headlights that project beams of light and snow falling in front of them, limiting visibility.
All rally games look best on the snow levels where the headlights work properly.
Come to think of it you should be able to race at anytime on any track in any conditions.

Hehehe, then all the people with their $80 or $100 steering wheels will need to get new ones to get the wiper controller! HA! But hey, customized speeds for your wipers, hey, now THAT would be awsome!

Now, to add my wishlist for effects:

1) Real-time driving. If you're in the US, and it's noon there, it should be night time if your racing on a track in Japan.
2) Day change during the races. I'd love to see the sun come up or go down during a race(that would bring up an interesting question about visors or you'd have vision problems:
blindfold.gif

3) Damage to cars effects car performance

Now to some wishlisting for other than effects:

1) Realistic time change. If you finish racing in Japan, then go to somewhere else across the world, it should take more than one day.
2) Choose where your garage is. Then it could also limit your tracks you can set up your car on, or even better, you make your own rugged test course to fine-tune your vehicle.
3) More than 6 total players on multiplayer. If you're on Test Course, it gets really boring with only 5 cars, and the fact that you're a half-lap ahead of them after the 4th or 5th lap.
4) Staggard start times on special courses. Kind of like how it's set up for qualifying in GT3, but it wouldn't be on all courses.
5) Utilization of HDTV. Pretty unmistakeable there...
6) Headset compatability. It would be pretty sweet if you had a headset on, then your pit crew tells you to go in, but you respond, "I bought this car, I bought this game, I bought YOU, so shut your mouth!"
7) Gas tanks for longer races. No need to introduce them for the beginner cup or anything, but it should be a factor when tire damage is introduced to the races.
8) In-race saving. It's hard for some people to find the time to do races for 2 hours in a day. This would help people with endurance races that aren't on Super Speed Way or Test Course.
9) CD-Player. I'd like to pop out the GT4 dvd(if it's even required), then pop in a music CD while I'm racing. It just helps me relax, and if they included MP3 decoding, all the people wouldn't have to worry about the music list b/c they make their own.

That about wraps it up for me. I'm not that greedy, am I?

great ideas ^_^.I already do the 9th idea though...the one with the CD Player.I turn GT3 ALLLLL the way down, then put my headphones on and listen to either Initial D/J-Pop/Eurobeat/Techno,instead of listening to GT3's HORRIBLE soundtrack, bleh =P.It relaxes me MUCH more if I listen to my own music during races as well...it also amplifies the INSANITY of the races as well if you're listening to a fast paced song with an AWSOME rhythm and you and your opponent are racing head to head ^_^!

Actually, I think the graphics in GT3 are good enough, with a few minor tweaks to the first-person view. I'd really like to see them pour all of their creative energy into more tracks, more cars, and better AI.

I can kinda see where you're comin' from Duke, but you do have to admit...you wouldn't mind seeing an even MORE realistic enviroment as you are racing, would you?

I'd pay upwards of $70 if they included this one effect (as long as the damage was visual, not purely preformance-affecting).

hmmm
you actually think PD would take all the time to make the game perfect for hardcores like us? i mean c'mon... PD IS is business company... they do the thing that helps them gain the most profit
besides, adding all those effects would mean that they would spend more time on it, thus, cutting the profit margin. Unless of course they sell it for more than 70$ when it first comes out in canada.... ^^

Dynamic weather and light effects would be fantastic.

They're a huge plus in the Le Mans 24 hours game - at one of the circuits (can't remember which) there's a 6 hour race that starts in the afternoon and finishes in the dark. One of the straights must run due west because as the race wears on, the sun, which starts practically overhead, gradually sinks until the glare makes it very hard to see where you're going. It would be a huge plus for GT.

Dunno about the snow idea - that would be more of a rally thing, I think.

I would be pi$$ed if i spent 50 credits to wash my car and then the first race i put it in it rained.

What about having to pay 500 credits for chains to rally in the snow/ice.

Ice Racing Tires. Tires made for racing on ice. They have small spikes in them to get better grip on the ice...

as the palm said, they are tires with little metal spikes inserted into them. Me and my grandpa made some for our moutain bikes so we could ride on the lake next 2 his house in the winter. all we did was take some old tires and we drove about 50 screws in each tire. you should try it for ice-riding because it is a blast!

This doesn't really have anything to do with the above being discussed, but, since I live in Canada, we don't use mph, so I think you should be able to choose what units of measure you want the game to use, so if you live in the US, you pick imperial, if you live in Canada, UK, Asia, etc, you pick metric. Because to be quite honest, I have no comprehension of mph, I see that I'm doing 175mph, I feel that is slow, because I think "oh yeah, I can do 175 in my Civic in real life, this isn't fast" but then you remember it's miles per hour, and not kilometers per hour. I really feel they should let you choose.

Anyway, all these ideas are great, and would make the game amazing.
