2: There's only one truly realistic rally game available, and that is (unofficially, in about 12 hours depending on time zone) 10 years old and still going strong. Go figure.

That game is the only reason that I don't really even miss rally at all in the Gran Turismo series. Though it's nice to have, GT's never where I turned to for realistic ( or even fun ) rally.

The only thing that I don't like about that other game is that I have to manually walk over to my PS3 and move my wheel's USB cable to my PC when I want to do some rally races. I just wish that one company could get rally that right in this decade.

How i miss Citta Di Aria :( The mind boggles at some of the tracks left out and some of the tracks left in, for the PS3 games...

PD, please.... if you're going to force yet another Grand Valley Speedway and Trial Mountain Circuit upon us, in the next game, at least update the layouts with an extra course variation or two ! Even night time or weather !?

Back on topic, i super miss this track:

I would really like to see more rally/dirt tracks and racing in GT6. Pikes Peak would be great.

Rally in GT6 is a joke. Those events are not Rally.
They clearly aren't.

That's liking saying ''Aircraft flying in GT6 is a joke'' because it isn't in GT6,just like Rally. They are dirt races.

I used to have serious fun with the rallycross style 1 on 1 races in old GT's; competing split screen against a mate. There was nothing wrong with that formula (altough it was more rallycross than rally), so another brilliant design decision from PD to take it out and replacing it with what we have now...

Bring it back and also implement a real point to point rally mode, and everyone would be happy :)

But that won't happen...

awww man the videos are making me sad, there are so many nice tracks missing from GT6 now.. I love the new ones they've added but I'd give anything to have these classics back. I'd think it would be relatively "easy" ? I know it wouldn't be that easy but the assets are there, if they are ok with giving us standard cars I'd at least take some standard tracks. Since PD created them in-house I can't imagine it's a licensing thing?

I know after learning that several pikes peak cars made it into the game I thought for sure pike's peak would be brought back I was sadly let down my only hope is it comes in an up date , lack of rally events is sad hopefully update will add some to special events. I also miss the rally days of GT 4. Kinda feels like we keep moving back words with gt6
Something is up with Pikes Peak licensing or something else... 10 years ago it was in several games... It hasn't been in a game since...

To me its the Nurburg ring of TT and rally... So hard to master and so long... Similar distance and times with the ring, completely different challenge. I ran it countless times in dirt 1 and swore it would at least return in a newer dirt game...

I was crushed when they paved it all the way up... But have since accepted it after watching some races recently.

Every GT fan wants her back...

... Even the Off-road racing in GT6 is sucky, we still want it!

(And Peaks Pike... since PD put some cars that raced there. We need compensation for God Sake!)
Sorry for the double post but I completely agree, a hill climb car is so unique and specific to hill climb events they just don't make any sense on a road racing circuit... No more sense than adding drag racing cars without a drag strip... Oh, pd even had that once!

Las Vegas, baby!!!!

I don't know what happened to PD since GT4, but they need to find out what it is and fast GT6 is a better step in the right direction than GT5 was, but even that is starting to become boring.

It's funny though Smokey Mountian and Swiss Alps were my favorite races from Rally in GT3, but Tahiti Maze and the others weren't, but I'll be glad to have them back someday.

Given the addition of the "Monster" cars and Audi Quattro in GT6, plus the rumour mill (which has admittedly been going for a while now) I think Pike's Peak is a likely candidate for an update or DLC. I do hope there are older part dirt versions along with the fully paved version though.

As for other Rally games, granted RBR is possibly the only true simulation but the straight up rally stages (as well as Pike's Peak) are fun in Dirt, and I've also heard the WRC games aren't as bad as they are often made out to be.

I love rally races... I agree... I wish there was emphasis on it... they have 5 kart championships but no real rally races to speak of? that's sad...

I liked tahiti maze but didn't like swiss alps, so whadya know?

Apparently someone doesn't get it although I said I don't like Tahiti Maze it wasn't to bash it I was saying at this point compared to what we currently have I'll have it back instead to at least make the game more interesting.

someone doesn't get it
You didn't get me.
I completely agree that Sony/Polyphony D have given rallying very little compared to previous GT incarnations, we could, at very least, have Grand Canyon and Pikes Peak, and I cannot understand why the old Chamonix full course is gone either. Naturally we have different prefences to which tracks we'd like returned, but the old Swiss Alps course would probably be my last choice.
Yeah, I have WRC3 for PS3 and I think it's great, even though it got terrible reviews.
Made me look; now there is a WRC4...

Yeah, I only mentioned WRC3 because I'm in Canada and only WRC3 was released here. They're all available as digital download, but I don't like buying games digital, so I didn't bother with WRC4.

WRC4 appears to have followed the precedent and attained only average/mixed reviews - do the actual stages match the courses driven irl?

They dont need one.

Import some random ones.
This hypothesis is also considered by Kaz (he says it in an interview).

Probably something didn't allow this, I hope that the point to point races will be added once the track editor will be avaible.

The inclusion of the cars should mean there will be something added later down the road. Kaz has essentially produced a bunch of promises of updates so there has to be something coming.

If i would meet kaz i would say my opinion about the current game. Why the hell we dont have just all tracks from gt1 to gt4 ? I mean is it so Hard to understand? And the tuning Variations in GT4 were thousand times better than in GT5 and GT6 they really doing a step back.

i really have an impression that with the redbull partnership, there should be a pikes peak climb soon. remember that last year sebastian loeb climbed that course with a redbull-peugeot 208T16 and broke the record(fully paved asphalt though, well at least its an achievement)
