Rally Special Events -- big fail thus far, does it get better?

For some reason the AI is terrible on snow, so the snow courses are always ridiculously easy.

Also, the co-driver tends to vary between incompetent and outright lying (he will literally call out invisible tiny bends in a straight as corners and then neglect to tell you about the next hairpin until you've already bounced off the wall and are facing the wrong direction), so pay attention to the map and what's out the windshield and don't rely on the co-driver. Makes me miss the DiRT co-driver... :v

Dirt and snow physics are very wrong. Snow especially. I hadn't driven on either in a while and decided to take an Arcade Evo X out to Chamonix. It doesn't even want to slide, and it can launch without much of an issue either. The only real difference is in braking distance and you understeer far earlier. Even in the slow turns I couldn't powerslide the Evo.

Are the driver aids, ASM, or skd recovery force on, because they stop you from having fun in rally

Personally, I found the rally easy, and reeeeally fun, more fun than almost any other race

Ahh yes, good point. I always race with them off. If you have TCS on, you will have a very hard time getting the tires to spin.

The rally events are like an after thought, I think they could have done it a lot better. It's especially unconvincing waiting for your turn to go and your car is sliding across the track even though you are stopped, and the way the game moves the car forward in the waiting line is really buggy looking, with the brakes going on and off like strobes and the wheels jerking about. The dirt events are challenging enough but in the snow I can pass all the AI cars before the finish line, even with the useless co driver who seems to want to make you crash more than anything. It's not all bad just really badly presented and thought out.
