Liscens test S14 "US version" 2'22.728 no wall contacts.
www.3rdgenracerX.net/DFP3.wmv 15ish megs in size.

What a fun test, a nice mix of asphault, ice and snow. Hard to control but darn fun with the DFP. Man the asphault section's are FUN!!! FUN :)

The trick to running fast in the snow/ice rally's is to go slow in, drift the apex and accel hard out of the turn's when you know and can see that you will make the rest of the turn without hitting a wall. If you try to brake hard and deep into the turn your just going to understeer RIGHT into the wall. You have to have grip in the front wheels if you want to make the turn's.

Good effort, room for some improvement though, a few of the corners were a little slow. A shame that steering wheel is nothing like real life or you would be on to a winner!

nice vid mate , are you using the wheel without it being plugged in ? if so do you know whether this would damage it in any way?

sweet vid! i havent started the S license yet.. im going through and getting silvers on everything for now.. im gonna get golds later. really nice driving there!

Its plugged in, I have my stereo system turned up pretty loud to get good audio quality so it masks the feedback noise alot. You can hear the whine noise a few times when I was turning and not accelerating.
Having it unplugged shouldn't effect it at all. The power only operates the force feedback system. The usb port still recconises the wheel with or without power. Try emailing or calling logitech for a more definitive answer.

NIck chap

I take it you haven't had the chance to play GT4 yet? You have to go that slow in the corners on the ice and snow. What are you talking about, the DFP is the closest real life like wheel on the console market.

You may well be correct that the DFP is the most realistic wheel on the market, but i was merely comenting on the fact that any computer steering wheel is never going to have the feel of it's real life counterpart.

Yeah, that's some quality driving there. And, having not played GT4 yet, this looks fun!

I've tried the Grand Canyon course in Prologue with the DFP, and while it's almost impossible to handle at first, you'll end up being faster than when using the 200 degree wheels. You just have to let the car flow more naturally and think ahead with your inputs

edit: *gulp* I just watched your Yellowbird 'Ring video. Almost as scary as Stefan Roser's run!

I can not wait to try this.
