Random choice when winning cars.

Its too late to suggest this, and I wouldn't be listened to in any case, but it would seem a semi-decent idea to do the random car choosing before the race, and then you race for the car it picked. Then those in pursuit of that one car can reload until they get the one they want.

I would love to choose/pick that car I want instead of random choice.
But I don't care so much about it anyway.

They should make it random but make the cars available to buy as well. I hate it when I finally win the car I want but get it in a crappy color. I'd rather save up cash money and buy the color I want. 👍

regarding frustrated GT3 peeps not getting the cars they want(believe me i know how you feel), the best alternative is to just use gameshark and get the cars you want- without doing a several hour race.

I don't think I would even want them to award prize cars, just unlock special ones.
That's along the lines I was thinking. I'd prefer they didn't give a car for any races. It was too easy. I think having to win races and earn money in order to buy a car is much more enjoyable.

I don't think money plays a big enough part in the games (thusfar). Except in the VERY beginning, I never had to drive a car "as is". I simply obtained the car, then maxed it out to the limits all at once. I never had to work my way up. That detracts from things a bit in my opninon.

I was under the impression that if you pressed "X" when you saw the shadow of the car you wanted in the winning screen that it would give it to you. It seemed to work for me, hell I won the F1 car like 6 times in a row on a endurace race. Cheat code central lists it as one of its codes. If I am full of crap then please flame me.

I was never sure if that worked. But I can't remember

Then watch...in GT4, it'll be some stupid game at the end of the series.

Like a big wheel.....you hit X, it stops spinning, and wherever it lands, thats your car.
Or a matching game, etc.

This is something that I talked about with a friend while playing GT3 once.
A idea I had was, to be able to choose the car you want. Only, have all the cars covered (like the car on the GT1 cover). If you know alot about cars, you will most likely be able to tell what the car is anyways, but it add's a bit of suspense minus the frusteration of the current system.

Here is a picture of the GT1 cover, for those that live in a different region.

I was just thinking that with 700+ cars it is possible that there could be some insane number of bonus cars (if they do it like they did in GT3). It's possible there could be 10 possible bonus cars. On the other hand with that many cars, you would think they would have to unlock the cars.

Point.

Whether we want to see it or not is irrelevant. Either it's there or it's not, and nobody knows which it is.
In that case, aren't most of the recent threads also irrelevant? :)

it was tough to do, but it worked.
I love when people say that. It's "tough to do" because it only works 1/4 of the time! You always do it, then when the randomness matches up with your choice, you say, "good, it finally worked," when, in fact it was just random again. :dunce:

Prize cars should be awarded using a process of elimination. Hence, the system should take into account what you have won previously (in that race), to ensure that a differing prize car is made available each time you undertake the said race.

Believe it or not, first time I raced that Super Speedway endurance, I won an F/090 S. And it took me several tries to win the F/686 in the Seattle Endurance. So you think you had it bad, there's my proof.

As off-topic data, I hope for a good game in the 2004 Iron Bowl (Auburn vs. Alabama) this weekend, and don't forget Michigan/Ohio State before that!

I think the best bay would be to let you pick the car the first 2 times you do a race. Then, make it random to prevent/limit the Redrock Valley factor (15 min race=500,000cr.) and make the cars available to purchase at dealerships.

Thank you. Someone that agrees with me that the cars are selectable. I knew i wasn't wrong.

Yeah, I remember whan I came up with that one a looong time ago. You have to do it once all the cars are on the screen. the game dosent recognize the button press before that point, and the circle only makes one round after all the cars are on the screen so you only get one chance. what I said to do is just hover over the button and press X when the circle is under the car before the one you want. the circle moves so fast, taking into consideration your reaction time combined with the whole time/space thing, would cause you to then select the car you wanted. Now I just use the reload technique, but if it awards me the same car twice, or starts playing keep away (selecting the two cars across from eachother repeatedly) then I start pressing X and I usualy get it.

Nothing wrong with random IMO. If you really cared about the car you were trying to win, you wouldn't mind doing the competition more than once, or reloading your game.

Yea we would mind,if not when we get it, then later on eventually. :scared:

The only thing that bothers me is the cars in the dealership that you cant buy. I mean come on, I don't care if they only built one of them. Why cant I buy that one? As long as I'm not going after a car in a race because it's the only way to get it then I dont mind random. In other words, if I just want to win a car then random is fine, BUT if I want a certain car I want to KNOW I'm gonna get it, or just go buy it. And if i cant buy it I don't wanna know about it. Untill I win it. Personaly, I wish every car on the disk was available in the dealership. I don't like the hidden cars. I like winning cars, because I might want to keep it, or I might want the cash. But if I do sell it I want to be able to head to the dealership and buy one later if I change my mind. (i.e. I do NOT want to redo that Nurburgring 100 laper to get back my model T) you get what I'm saying?

Dont sell hard to win cars then. It is not hard to win enough credits to buy whatever you want. Win each race once in GT3 to 100% completion and you will have won over 11 million credits in prize money.

It is false economy to sell prize cars and then have to buy them back at four times more. There are no issues with garage space in GT3. (There is if you want the prize cars in every colour).

What annoyed me about GT3 was the License prize cars are not unique as they were in GT1 and 2.

Also whats nice about cars you cant buy is that you can go, Hey look I won this car! and show it to your friends and be proud of it
