Random thought: how come video game blogs like Joystiq only reiterate what others have said?

That was so shallow a thought I already have your answer. It's a blog, and bloggers don't have jobs, can't afford advance copies, and can't afford to publish/copyright their findings if they could get andvance copies. Only real companies do the real stuff.

Either that or they simply agree with the real companies, like Gamespot.

The world needs another video game blog like I need another hole in my head.

If you're not a reporter with sources, stick to making a blog about your life. That's what they were intended for, not re-iterating and parroting other sites' information.
