Random Winners Choice WRS!!

yeah, can't wait, its a lot of fun

i just ran some laps and here are my times:
The eclipse i was able to get the allowed sports updgrades and an oil change,
i ran a 1:50.100, with really bad understeer, i have to work on that
==
Miata - 1:53 range
==
Puegot - 1:54 range

completely stock no tune first impression times on sports mediums.

eclipse gt 1:49.435 (turbo is nasty in this thing)
del sol 1:54.671
skyline 1:51.666

Wow Chris, thats fast for that eclipse with no add ons. I 've run 1:47s with my FTO but it has all the sports upgrades, medium sport tires etc. Hopefully I can get consistent with it because I have been running consistent 1 48s.

As for the Sileighty and the Civic Type R, still need to run them.

Just wanted to clarify all sport upgrades are allowed regardless of how much left over cash you have... The left over $$$ can be used for mods outside of the sports tune stuff.... Not sure if thats what you ment by being abled to get the allowble mods

That is correct walter

yeah thats what i meant to say, lol, i was able to get the eclipse down to a 1:46.226.
how is that stacking up against your guys times?

thats a good time for the eclipse. i didnt really do a fine tune on mine just put all the parts as i could and fiddled with the suspension and diff 4 a couple of laps. i was able to get a 1.46.468 at best. i think i can get it slightly faster throughout the week if i can put more time into it. however its a difficult one to drive, its soooo much faster in a strait line than my others but tire wear would deff be a concern for the race.

heres some stats, so far

eclipse gt-1.46.468
-284hp/253 ft/lb torque
-446pp
-42,878 miles

del-sol
-thing was a huge dissapointment couldnt barely get more than 200hp out of it, its a turd.

skyline gts-t type m 1.45.892 (consistent low 1.46.2s really)
-269hp/231 ft/lb torque
-440pp
50,506 miles

its still up in the air what car im going to use, i spent alot of time on the skyline and im leaning toward that right now. but we will see. just a suggestion for this track i just thought of right now, it may help to turn the driving line on for a couple of laps to figure out roughly the best line if anyone is having a hard time, becuase this is a very tricky trak to figure that out in my opinion. hopefully better lap times soon to follow!

what car are u using debo?

Its going to be between my FTO & my Sileighty. But overall, I think the FTO will be easier to keep on the track during the long haul. My Civic Type R is a slug compared to the other 2 with torque.

But I've been turning 1 47s & 1 48s with the FTO. I need to do some more practice on that track and need to turn on the driving line.

im consistently in the low to mid 1:47's. i know i can get it faster because it still is incredibly hard to drive, but like you said, its soo much faster in a straight line then my other cars. the understeer on this car is unbeleivable!!!! i am worried about front tire wear as well...

im glad someone else picked this car too to compare thoughts on it. it is deffinately one of the quwirkiest cars to control. did you also notice how bad the brakes are?! i realise the speeds im ataining before braking are greater but its not enough to justify how poorly this thing stops, or rather doesnt stop. but with time put in to tuning and the right opporunity it would be so easy to pass others on the straits. i must also mention that on my best lap with this car i really tried to not use full throttle till i thought the wheels were strait and the car was back balanced to reduce the wheel spin, but i really had to concentrate and pull back throttle like it was a 800hp car.

Okay guys...nice to see you're all making progress on your purchases. Just got back from a long weekend and made my purchases. Hopefully they'll be able to hang with the times you're posting. Didn't get any seat time behind them yet.

2001 Lancer Evolution VII RS - $19,192 - 47,558mi
1999 Silvia Spec-R Aero (S15) - $13,713 - 67,503mi
1997 Impreza WRX STi Version IV - $17,210 - 54,844mi

Really wish I found a solid FWD platform to work with (i.e. DC5 RSX/Integra, CRX SiR), as that's worked for me in previous races, but I settled on 2 AWD's and 1 RWD. I chose against an MR2 Turbo (sorry Walter ;)) as I'm not good at entry braking in an MR platform. When down some time from the car ahead I tend to trail-brake, and that's a recipe for disaster in an MR car.

Very excited about the Lancer being available.

EDIT : Just for proof....The Impreza is gone since I've raced after I purchased. Right after I purchased all 3, the Spoon S2000 popped in...I gladly purchased! Haha.

after a few shake down laps with all three cars my initial impressions are that the rx8 is very smooth and can probably turn in some awesome times it 3rd gear wasnt a mile too long ... the prelude is insane for a ff if it can just over come its massive understeer problem and the mx3 is slow lol

i honestly can not believe that line up just got!!! thats insane, and i even saw another evo III in that pic!! i have seen anything even close to cars that good aside from walters rx8, for under 25000 credits and all 3 of your pics are insane! i honestly dont even know which one is going to be faster. and how do you somehow mistakenly pass up an sti only to have it replaced by a spoon s2000?!!!?!. thats just plain rediculous.

Wow Vinny, I also agree. That is an insane line up.

That pic is photo shopped minus 50pp for vinny lol... Thats honestly an insane lot.... although after I bought mine both a spoon ek and a spoon dc5 popped up

ive been doing my best to tune this skyline and have made some good progress. i havent improved my best time by too much and i dont tink i will be able to it is a 1.45.546. however i am ableto run a very consistent 1.46.0 on my current tune wich i remarkably easier to drive. this is of course on practice in main game i think i am going to fine tune in an open lobby. i am really hoping its not going to need to be changed. i want to see what im up against so post up some times!!

So. this race isnt going to go to well for me. With my FTO as tweaked as possible I'm turning mid to low 1:47. Not only that, but I think I broke my right hand so pain killers or alcohol will be in the mix for me to get through this race.

well im as tuned as possible, even resorted to the tuning guides, and i can only turn consistent 1:47-1:48's, with both the eclipse and the miata. gonna be a long race for me!

dont worry guys your not alone. i did some test and tunes in an online lobby and i am in the same boat as you guys. my car is signifigantly more difficult to drive online. i did refine it to an online tune, but since its very dificult to keep the tires from spinning coming out of a corner even going strait the tires cant support the way this skyline puts down power. i think that the back runners will have a very exciting race. remember as long as you dont come in last you can gain points in the championship. i am going create a thread to keep track of our series. it will say current points scores, and rules for the upcoming weeks. i will post a link in a while.

okay the rules and regulation thread is up. lets keep all discussions in this thread and leave the other thread to post the weekly rules. when rules are posted try to think of everything you can that people would ask you, to put in your rules that you want to be or not to be allowed. also try and keep a similar format to what i have already used to keep it easy to follow.

Well, it ain't all bells and whistles with the Evo VII RS. After 8-10 laps or so, the tires start to get tired. With the AWD helping you throttle out of corners it really takes a toll on them, and you're forced to either fight understeer or slow down to compensate. Pit strategy is going to be big in this one too, being that it's around 30secs or so.
