What is considered a "rare" car from the UCD? Is it based on how often it shows up I assume? And if so, how little does it have to show up to be considered "rare"

My theory:

Cars will be rare... to YOU only, as soon as they pop up in your UCD.

There is no rare cars in GT5.

I doubt anything is rare in GT5 anymore. People use exploits to duplicate "rare" cars and keep them pretty much, in production.

"Rare" in GT5 has multiple meanings. It may mean a car's amount of spawns over a time span compared to other cars, it could mean that a car just refuses to spawn in the UCD, or it could mean which Day a car first spawns in relation to other cars. Whichever, "rare" doesn't mean much in GT5 as all cars could be obtained through tickets.

I think "rare" refers to the number of people who actually own them. Such as the Cranberry Red Chevelle, you hear about it but barely see anyone who has them.

The problem with chevelle's and most of the old muscle cars, they come in 15-20 different color combo's. so technically, ALL chevelle colors are rare

(i do have the cranberry red one though)

In my opinion, the 'rare' UCD cars are the ones that aren't tradeable. like the Ford GT '02
