Here a Video of me cruising around, using a Logitech G25 wheel, been using a controller for 6-7 years and only had this wheel for 4-5 days, hardly practice so I am looking for constructive criticism if possible please.

Thank you all so kindly, in advance.

Before some asks, yes this is GT HD, the reason why i posted it here in the Prologue forum is because I am asking if it will be good enough to get 100% through Prologue, is this driving physics much different?

Edit: I had ASM and TC off, R2 tires.

from what I could see your racing line and approaches to corners seems to be ok. At least 4 corners I saw though you definitely could have gotten on the gas earlier to make use of the full track. How does your time rank in gthd compared to the best?

Also it is a little hard to judge from that video if your driving capabilities would be high enough. 2 reasons mostly.

1. If you used bumper view and showed the full hud it would be easier to see when exactly you are braking and accelerating rather than working off sound and see your racing line better
2. you picked one of the easiest cars to drive. You should practice in something high powered and rwd as thats what kind of cars you have to drive in the later stages of gt5p.

Also gt hd physics are a fair bit different to gt5p. gthd feels a lot more like gt4 to me. but practice in gthd definitely does help.

What car you suggest?

Watching movie at the moment, but will do another vid a little later with your suggestion.

well the 599 would be the ultimate goal. I can't remember what other cars there are in gthd. Start with the lotus elise and work your way up to the 599 but probably do a video with something a bit less powerful than the 599. Just make sure its a rwd car.

edit: just got onto gthd to see what cars there are. see how you go with the lotus elise and get use to that first then jump to the 599. Probably post a lap with either of the two.

With that car I was ranked 360 odd, so not so good I guess.

nah 360 odd isn't bad. well assuming more than just 360 people put a time down lol its probably better to compare how many seconds slower your lap time is than the fastest time than what your ranking is come to think of it.

That was very nice peaceful lap. But when you get use to the wheel, try to find the limits of the car. Just try few laps throwing the car around corners more violently, maybe using e-brake on those thighter corners. 👍👍👍

1st corner is good but only if it wasn't a S turn. You should "sacrified" it in order to accellerate more in the 2nd corner (~16s)

You could oversteer a little more i.e 4th (~30s) 6th (~45s)

And so on.

1'12 isn't too far.

~30 means .30 of a second?

I did a few laps before, that first 2 corners I can actually be .5 of a second up, I am all the time now, I just fall off from there, to scared to push that pedal down that little bit more, Get ahead and try to protect.

I'll work on those tips, thank you for them, I really just have to find the sweet spot I guess, hunting the finest line.

I wasn't clear: ~30=intermediate time.

There isn't only one line, each car has its line i.e if i tell you to oversteer it's because you use a f599.

ok thanks. I know there is more time I can make up, I have smashed seconds of sectors, just not put the lap together as yet, which practice will fix.

Once again thanks.

One thing that stands out to me the most about the second video, is only once in that first whole lap did you use more than 75% braking power, infact that one coming toward the long corner before the tunnel you barely used 50%.

Yeah, just watched it again and yeah!!

So I should be using 100% break when possible? All the time? I always thought it would be better keeping a more of a constant speed, breaking slowly and accelerating slowly through the corners.

Brake hard straightline and then slowly release the brakes while turning in order to maximize grip and keep the car's balance.

As long as it doesn't make the car unstable, always brake at 100%!

Your lines are alright and you show nice throttle control during corners 👍

Most important thing I would work on is try to make full use of the track. At the first corner and the corner before the tunnel, you leave some tarmac unused at the outside. Same story for coming out of the corners. Try to apply the throttle a little earlier, use all the tarmac coming out of the corner and pick up those extra tenths ;)

I would recommend a car like the Lancer you used with N3 or S1 tyres. That's a good combination to let you find the limits, without making it too hard for yourself...

Like dark_ruffo explained

Yes you should be hard on 100% brakes in a straight line (to keep the car stable), then you can still have some (reduced) turn in braking if required, but really it depends on the corner and the car, if it's a fast corner and you want to scrub some speed and/or stabilise/settle the car you probably not want 100% braking.

Braking at 50% is just wasting fractions of seconds.

Are you using any driving aids?

EDIT: watched the vid now, looks good. using a wheel?

Did you use the tuned version?

Yes..

Ok to sum it all up..

I used the tuned version of the 599, I used no aids and a Logitech G25.

:(

Doh!!

R2's..
Just got a 1'14.678 with untuned 599, no aids and S2 tyres :dopey:

I guess that's not too good though :indiff:

EDIT: oh and I'm using the controller..

lol, faster than me.

But I did get down to the mid 1'11's with the controller on the same settings as I did with that movie clip of the 599.

Your using a slower car and worse tires, your going to be miles faster than me.

nah, don't think so actually. gonna test it now..

EDIT: 1'11.807

Be nice to have a target, then when I get GT5:P in the next few days I will have an expectation at least. Whether I am going to be poor or ok at it.

Nice and smooth that was, like many have said you can aford to get on the gas a little earlier comeing out the bends and use a little more of the track, take a wider line in and out but the main point is your keeping everything smooth. With GT-HD (corect me if I'm wrong) you can watch the replays of the guys with the fastest time/times, really helpful to see where there makeing the time up and what lines they take.

An example...not mine!

One thing you can do is to take a look at some of the replays of the fastest laps, though I looked at the fastest tuned 599 and he drifted around just about every corner. Perhaps another of the top ten will not use drifting quite so much.
