"What rank do you think you are John?" -McLaren'sAngel

Hiya!

(clears throat) You know, I wanted to make this a poll so that we can easily review the options without having to go to page one. I completely took my pre-typed thread beforehand, so if this gets confusing later on, let me know.

So GTPlanet's Final Fantasy-playing diva "McLaren'sAngel" asked about MY level. Okay, I'll come clean. I don't have a certain rank, but I'm between 9 and 10. In fact, I'd say I'm more around 10 than 9. Ranking yourself a "10" means that you respect the car as it is. You take pros and cons and respect it altogether regardless. It even means if someone comes up with aftermarket tuner options. Sure, some people say "you can't polish a turd," but I guess like Barry Meguiar, I'm car crazy pretty much. Been nuts for them since 1999. The car that got me into others and that I still like to this day, is the Camaro. Even if people mess up cars (for better or worse) with bodykits and all, I sitll respect the car for being good to work with, then better when tuned to the modifier's delight. I'm being honest. I'm more of a 9.5, but as I said, I'm more a 10 than a 9.

So there you have it. Carry on, GTPlanet. And thank you for asking about my views, Miss McLaren.

Hiya! :D :O

Well the reason why I ask you this is becuz I THINK I notice something strange about your opening post to your very own thread! :O:O
You didnt give us your opinion on your first reply to a thread like you would always do! :O I just keep remembering how evertime you post for the first time in either someone else's thread ot your own, you would ALWAYS post your own opinion on it! :O But this one is different! :O:O:O:O

Anyways....carry on the Johnny thread!!! :O:O:O:O

I'm somewhere around a five. But simple power and performance aren't the only things that matter to me. What matters is how a car performs at its intended task.

Another "Hiya!" to Lady McLaren and my fellow amigos y amigas. Como estan ustedes? Yep, two years of high school Spanish can work wonders, folks!

All these "Hiya"s... reminds me of Anime super-cutie Shampoo from the "Ranma 1/2" series, who says "Hiya" before saying some things. But I don't think she would faint when so dangerously close to the McLaren F1. Anyhow, I'm actually surprised you said you were a "zero" with my rating scale, M5Power. I would think that for being possibly the number #1 "stat boy" on cars, that you rated at least 8 or higher. However, your call.

And going back to McLaren'sAngel, I didn't give my view because I didn't want to get accused for coming with a longer-than-usual opening like in my old-school days on GTPlanet. Well, rate your level of automotive enthusiasm! Let's keep pressing on.

I can respect many cars on a variety of different levels. I enjoy a vehicle which does it's job (whatever that job may be), well. Respect and preference, are different though. I have no interest in a car that can't perform well, but that doesn't mean I don't appreciate other vehicles built for other purposes.

Rx7Ownz
im a 9, studied, learn and respect all cars. Even try to teach my friends that japanese cars are not the best x_x

"ALL" cars is a bit too openminded for me, there are some real crap mobiles out there as well.

Can someone rent John & McLaren's Angel a room for a couple of nights? I wish they'd just shag and have done with it.

On topic, I like some really, really shonky cars. That makes me the best. I win.

I was kidding. I only sort of like the Impala 3.4

Incidentally, John, did you know that the rear-seat DVD player in the Pontiac Montana is called MontanaVision?

Almost makes you want a Montana, doesn't it?

Agree fully.

Friends. Just friends. Easy on McLaren'sAngel and I.

In talking about enthusiasm, you respect almost every car no matter what modifications are done to it. I've seen a classic Chevrolet Bel-Air at a burger restaurant in Boerne, Texas, USA. It was white with some gray or black, I don't know the color too well. And then earlier tonight (as in 7/31/04), I seen a tuner Honda Civic (among many, I know. Kill the "ricer" talk). It had a rear wing, decals on the side skirt, the racing-like muffler, but I still respect the car as being an affordable and stylish (even to this day) way to get from Point A to Point B. I still remember that even though there may be cars I may not like, I still respect all or most cars because... well, it's better than carrying a lot of stuff and WALKING home (imagine how many p*ssed off familes there would be if cars never existed. Good luck carrying groceries or lumber on a bike! So I really respect autos.

Do you? Rate yourself. By the way, in the interest of sportsmanship, congratulations to Danny Williams for taking down Mike Tyson with a 4th round knockout. Congratulations to Danny WIlliams. American football season is almost around the corner for both professional and college! Amid my random sports talk, see you later.

John, you forgot regards to looks.

That's what I look for.

Hiya! :D :O

mmmMMmm.. I am not sure if I am an 8 actually becuz I got something in my mind that GRABS ME! :O Although I do like alot of cars, I often dont pay much attention to the everyday cars I see out on the road, but only to ones that are really GOOD IMO or just plain rare! :O An example would be a Ferrari Modena!!!! :O:O:O  I see one or several every month at the beach and it never gets boring! :O  Maybe I shouldnt be an 8..... :O:O

Hiya! :D :O

I read about this match on the net after my dad told me about this fight and learned that Mike Tyson was getting tired and tired over the first three rounds and that reminded me a GOOD question! :O See, I remember how Mike Tyson have so many fans back when he was so aggressive and nearly unstoppable :O but then as time past, fans begin to lose faith in him and just walk away from Mike Tyson or boxing itself.
Since we all are like Automotive Enthusiast, we love cars at this point, but when we get order and have more responsibilities around...will we tend to forget about all the love for cars? Maybe you John can make a seperate thread for this kind of a question! Well, because I know and seen and heard of how youngsters in high school will love things such as cars during that time until the REAL life begins and mostly they just drop it becuz they are either not interested anymore or cant afford it anymore or just having too many responsibilties to think about it again! :O

Lady McLaren, I've seen your most recent reply. Making a seperate discussion is kind of yes and no. Yes, in the sense of it being a special bit of consideration that we do tend to shift our views over time. No, in the sense that I don't think it should be a seperate topic. The way I structured this deal is to measure your level in all. Considering all the cars you like and maybe dislike, do you respect a Camaro apart from a Peugeot 206? A Honda Civic to a Holden Monaro? A Ferrari 360 Modena (glad to see we like the same car) from a Lamborghini Murcielago? In human interest, choosing other sides of what we like and dislike is human nature. Since you're a girl, McLaren, you kind of know what liking one thing then liking another later on. For example, you may choose to wear trendy sandals over trendy sneakers. Perhaps wear dresses and skirts more than jeans and floods. You may choose to go blonde apart from being black-haired. You may also choose to wear more tops exposing your belly, perhaps even getting a navel piercing apart from wearing tops that go down below the waistline. So, we all naturally like something, then kind of go for something else. Like I thought the Toyota Bb/Scion xB was pretty ugly until I found out how trendy it is, even if my counterparts daresay otherwise.

When I started out liking cars, you may know I liked the Camaro and Firebird/Trans Am mostly. Especially those of late. But later, I've grown to appreciating all kinds of cars, and I still enjoy learning about new cars in new places. So it's okay to change your rate as a automotive enthusiast. In a way, think of this as being "I really respect all cars," or "I don't really respect all cars." I said I was more of a 10, so I particually have to stay true to that. So, there you have it, my friend. Anyone else want to share their rating?
