Re-buy tires?!?

I bought soft racing tires for my ZR1 RM, raced it a few times then let bob drive it. This inadvertently changed the tires to crap tires, and now I can't put the soft racing tires back on. There are no tires in my items list. Am I missing something?? Is repurchasing the tires my only option??
 
Are your tyres banned from the event because B-spec has much tougher tyre restrictions than the equivalent A-spec races?
 
No the race I am trying to do had unrestricted tires. I can't swap tires from the garage on the main menu or the tuning menu just before a race.
 
did you check if you can change it in the "driving options" before racing?

(driving options - where you turn traction control off, etc)
 
There is a second menu that you may have overlooked - it is the same one where you decide on your TCS and ABS settings. Tyre choices are made there - don't ask me why, just another of the mental decisions made whilst 'designing' (oh for ironic quotes) GT5.
 
Which B-Spec event is it?

Edit: iNiff and Sukerkin seem to be on the right track.

Glad to help. I did the same thing yesterday. Couldn't figure out how my Buick went from being awesome last time I used it to being horrible to drive. Then I realised that a B-spec race with tyre restrictions forced it back to comfort tyres.. change back up to race soft and was back to winning again.
