I was wondering, do you guys re-install the game data over time just for the sake of seeing if it clears up some of bugs that plague the game right now? Is it a good idea to do in general just to see if it helps it run smoother by re-allocating the data that may have become unorganized from the numerous updates?

I deleted my game data recently as I had encountered issues with some single-player events since getting the game, but just hadn't considered this option before. You then have to download all the updates when you launch the game and the game itself with loading times etc is initially much slower as it reinstalls the data in the background, but it's worked fine since and I've had no other issues.

I did have to redownload the Anniversary content, but that's in your downloads folder on PSN.

Oh man, I can't even imagine how long it would take to re-install everything. And then I would have to redo thumbnails as well.

What kind of single player issues were you having?

I couldn't race some championships (GT300 being one of them, and therefore GT500 as you have to complete the first to unlock the other) as the game would crash once past the initial loading screen but onto the pre-race screen. The game would attempt to load the cars but it wasn't having any of it.

Since then, I can access every event and each loads absolutely perfectly.

Re-installing doesn't take as long as you think really, well, it depends on your internet speeds of course. I think it probably took 30 minutes or so before I could play the game again. Reloading the thumbnails was a bit tedious as that took some time, and the increased loading times at first were a little frustrating, but nowhere near as much as not being able to play the game properly!

One thing to note that in deleting your game data you will lose any pictures you have taken and any replays you have saved.
This certainly was the case when I did the money glitch.

The options menu does have some game data settings for installing and salvaging files - never tried these though.
