There is no hidden drag strip, anywhere. Yes, it's true you can break out of Laguna Seca, but there's no drag strip there.

This is just another old rumor that won't die.

well, it is a VERY strong rumor then! i only heard it was only a graphics glitch. i done a search on it and did not find any pics!......i will try again..

Looks like the start finish straight to me, looking backwards from the first hairpin. In the Motorsport land glitch there are quite a few other Mlands around that you pass through like a ghost. Some you can only see looking backwards from the in car camera, or something silly like that, but they are there. This 'drag strip', I suspect, is just another Laguna Seca (or one bit of it)

Oh, give it up, meme...are you going to destroy every thread?

No "hidden" drag strip exists in the game, do the 400m or 1000m trials if you wish.

Well it seems no one has posted this yet, so I will.

Its in this months OPM, how to get to the secret strip:

To reach the hidden drag strip at Leguna Seca Raceway, you must exit the track. To do so, enter any race in Arcade mode at Leguna Seca Raceway, in any car, perferably all wheel drive, such as the Mitsubishi Lancer or Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak Version. At the starting line, drive forward until the line is about 2 or 3 car lenths behind you, Then do a 180-degree turn, so that you are facing the exact opposite direction. Drive forward in the new direction. Then, up against the wall on the left hand side, you will see a gate that juts out from the wall. The gate is at an odd angle, about a 75- or 80-degree corner. Drive directly into the corner where the wall and the gate meet, and keep it floored. Turn the wheels back and forth, left to right. Keep doing so until the car begins to go through the wall/gate, and then contine doing so until the car is completely behind the wall. Note: Do not drive back to the track, if you do so you will have to repeat the trick. Turn to the left once you are through the wall and trace a path along the outer perimeter of the track. Pause gameplay, and remember the exact spot abovethe letter "U" in "Continue" on the pause menu. If you draw a small dot on the TV screen with a crayon, it will clearly mark the location of the drag strip. drive toward that dot. Keep driving until you get close to the dot, then slow down. To find the drag strip, slowly turn the car left and right until you see something resembling the walls and outer perimeter of the drag strip. Slowly drive toward the walls. If you continue to drive around the oter perimeter of the drag strip, you will find a way inside, letting you drive on it.

if you try it on sim and cant find it use arcade mode! its on one of them!

Wow that was alot of typing...
I still have to try this out

its only a graphics glitch nonthing more! you will realise that if you get out of the track you will turn and then see the drag strip then turn again then it will dissapear!

I was just at Laguna Seca in my Escudo, I got outside (maxxed out at 250 in fifth gear) but couldn't find the track. Oh well, doesn't really matter anyway

HEY THERE IS NO FREAKING DRAG STRIP IN THIS GAME!! ARE YOU SO THICK HEADED THAT YOU DON"?T BELEIVE ANYONE MEME? WHEN PEOPLE SAYS THERE IS NOT ONE TRUST!!

that pic is proof! why are you mad at me? i never tryed it! you NEED to go to the "U" in continue then when you get there move your car from left to right! it is only a graphics glitch! the reason why you did not see it was cuz you were in a hurry!

when you move from left you may see it you move left a little bit it will dissapear!

try both disks!

Who cares if there's a drag strip or not?? You've got infinite space to do whatever you want!! Mostly all you can do is go REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY fast.......but that's the point of the game!

You can break out of Laguna Seca, but THERE IS NO HIDDEN DRAG STRIP. (Wow, that's a record of all-caps for me.)

Let's get another thing straight: There is no hidden CLK-GTR nor McLaren F1, either.

And no matter how hard to try, you can't race-modify a Ruf.

There are several different ways to break out of the track, but what's the point? Once you have broken out of the track, it's not a race anymore...just open road.

Which is exactly like saying "If it's on TV, it's got to be true!"

Meme, it's not a drag strip. It never was a drag strip, and never will be a drag strip. It's just a portion of Laguna Seca that appears due to a graphics glitch. You know, like when you go really really fast on the test track in a hybrid, and you go flying and the screen glitches out? It's just a glitch. Not a drag strip. A glitch. And no amount of saying "it's a drag strip" will make it into one. Only a glitch, not a drag strip. Glitches are just glitches, not hidden drag strips.

Also, just because it's a section of road, doesn't mean it's a drag strip. To be a drag strip, it would have to have a Christmas Tree and stuff like that, instead of being a random section of track from Laguna Seca.

Alright get this. I'll break it down for you meme.

Every level on Gran Turismo is made of a map. This map is a certain distance, height and width. Now when you get outside of a level you can run to the boarder of this "box" that the level is in and you will appear on the other side, think Star Fox 64 in battle mode. When you fly to the edge of the level on one side you appear on the other.

This is futher proven when your car dissappears in the third person mode. When you exit the box your camera dissappears, rather says inside the box you just exited.

Now about that portion of track you saw. When you passed through the boarder of the level you appeared on the opposite side, meaning you just went from one corner to the other and your passing up the SAME course again. Not a hidden drag strip, just the same course you jumped out of.

Sorry to burst your bubble on the Drag Strip thearoy but there isn't one in Gran Turismo 2. The closest you have is the Test Course.
