1986-1988 Holden VL Calais Turbo

cp4790098336483638234.jpg

Body Style: 4-door sedan, 5-door wagon
Engine: RB30ET 3.0L turbocharged straight-6
Power: 201hp
Torque: 218ft-lb
Weight: 1350kg
Transmission: Nissan MX7 5-speed manual, Jatco 4-speed automatic
Drivetrain: Front-engine, rear-wheel-drive
Additional Information: One of the most popular and regarded as one of the "best" Commodores ever made, the VL was the final Commodore made on the original architecture. As Holden's straight-6 and V8 engines weren't available to be run on 91-octane fuel (new laws passed in Australia as of 1st January 1986), the V8 was released later and the straight-6 was scrapped and an imported straight-6 from Nissan in Japan, the RB30E, was used.

The Turbo models have become a cult classic and are one of the most sought-after non-limited edition Commodores, because of their classic shape and easy-to-modify engine.

2014-15 Porsche 918 Spyder
2013_Porsche_918_Spyder_(8674620459).jpg

It's for the production model, but the photo shown is of a prototype. I'm not sure if matte black and/or the Martini livery are actually available on the production model.

Body style: 2-door roadster/targa
Engine: 4.6L V8+2 AC electric motors
Power output: 608 horsepower at 8700 rpm (V8), 129 horsepower (Front motor), 156 horsepower (Mid motor), 887 horsepower combined output
Torque: 398 lb-ft at 6700 rpm (V8), 155 lb-ft (Front motor), 277 lb-ft (Mid motor)
Weight: 1700 kg (1640 with optional Weissach package)
Transmission: 7 speed dual clutch automatic
Drivetrain: Front and mid motor, mid engine, AWD
Additional info: The 918 quickest production vehicle Car and Driver has ever tested, hitting 60 mph in just 2.2 seconds, 100 mph in 4.9 and running a 9.8 second quarter mile at 145 mph. That is quick.

This was already nominated.

My second nomination isn't in the queue.
Weren't you looking for torque? If you can't find it, put unknown and I'll add it to the queue

EDIT: Nevermind, I see you found it, I put it where it would be in the queue

Years of Production?

Please note, if you made a nomination in the last 10 hours 53 minutes, and it isn't italicised in the queue, then you are eligible to make another one.

Agh, screw you. And whoever nominated it.

There are two nominations on this page alone that I was planning on making either today (once I decided which to choose), or once my existing nomination was polled. :(

I'm gonna use this chance to nominate a car I've been holding off for a while instead.

Well, cool. I could nominate another car right now. Now, what else should I pick?

Yeah, my major concern for this nomination is that there's a lot of users that seem to be sick of Mustangs and probably will vote Seriously Uncool due to that. Though, it doesn't mean that I won't support it. I love the new edge Mustang!

Yeah that's my concern but it'll happen with any Mustang now. Even the '15 onwards model will be voted SU.

Yup, sadly true. :(
But hey, maybe they'll go easy on it since it'll be a while before the Mustang is posted.

Okay, I want to nominate something, but I have no clue what car to pick. I thought of the Mk1 Focus RS, but c'mon. Nominating 2 Focus types? That would be silly.

1958 Chevrolet Impala.
1958-Impala-Convertible-BJ-198k-1.jpg
Body Style: 2 Door hardtop, 2 door convertible.
Engines: 235ci Straight-six, 283ci V8, 348 V8.

283 V8: 275 Ft-Lbs.
283 Ramjet: 305 Ft-lbs.

348 V8: 1,619 Kilograms.
Transmission: 3 Speed manual, 4 speed manual, 2 speed automatic.
Drivetrain: Front engine, rear wheel drive.
Additional Information:
The Impala was introduced in 1958 and positioned as the top-of-the-line Bel Air.

It was available in two different body styles and had the Impala script, insignia, and crossed flag emblems on the front of the hood, ribbed body sill panels, large chrome air scoops ahead of the rear wheels on the fenders, a competition style deep two spoke steering wheel with Impala medallions, and Impala script on the dash.

It also featured six taillights, which gave it a distinct look over the other Chevys and would also become its trademark.

The 1958 Impala helped Chevrolet regain the number one production spot in this recession year.

I'm fairly certain that the Impala you've used in that picture has been modified...
Different rims, and the rear wheel cover is off.

That's why I added all those pics. If needed, I can put a different one up there.

Edit: Never mind, swapped the pics. The one up there now is a beautifully restored 348 model. Interior and engine pics included under additional pictures. The wheel cover was an optional dealership addition.
