I read some thread and it was said that PD reads GTplanet forum.

sorry but you read wrong.
GTplanet is just a fan site.

off cours it is posible that an employee of PD reads the forum
(which he shouldn't, he should be modeling cars or tracks :D)

But there is no way to be sure

Yeah, I think we all agree that premium models made by community is insane idea, but... Don't you think we could help PD in other aspects of game? Premiums are too detailed for normal working/studying people to make. They take too much time, too much inside knowledge (I mean game mechanics), and require lots of information from manufacturers.

I was thinking about that for a long time and I think GT community could participate in GT developement. Of course PD will never let us do it. Japanesse companies are too strict for such ideas. But we can dream, so I gathered some ideas where some talented GTP users could help.

Standard cars.
Many GTP users can't imagine GT game without some great standards. We could save them (cars not users :D). Main thing that standards need are better textures. Now PS3 have resourses to deal with high resolution textures and bump mapping, so we could upscale them, make some bump mapping end have way better standards. There are some cars like E55 AMG that with better textures would look premium-ish. There are some racecars with horrible pixelated textures. We could fix that.

Less likely we could upscale 3d models of standards. Not to premium quality but for wxample quality of Accord Euro-R + door handles. But it could generate problems like with premium cars modelling, so that might be too far.

Standard cars interiors. I'm not talking about making interiors from scratch, but porting interiors for those tons of skylines, miatas and such from existing premium models interiors. But like in previous point it might be difficult for some reasons.

Tracks.
This is way more tricky than textures for standards. We don't know how much in terrms of game engine and how old tracks and new ones differ. But we could help with upscaling textures of old, beloved GT4 tracks.

Course maker themes.
We could prepare texture packs and some basic models for new course maker themes. For example polish fields (it's example, don't bash me :P ). We take Toscana, make it more green, change trees, some flags and alter models like that small city on horizon, gas station and small houses to suit new theme. Oh, and more bumpy and full of holes asphalt. PD makes whole theme more flat, and we have new theme.

It's good to dream somethimes :)

200-500$ per car, i almost fell off my chair when i read that. I've done freelance 3d modeling and the last car i did the poly count 1.6 million, took around 150 hours to do. and i was paid 3500$

I read some thread and it was said that PD reads GTplanet forum.

So here's a deal.

I'll hire 3d modelers or use a freelance to build some 3d premium models of cars for GT in case they will be include in game.
All the bills for creating premium models i'll pay for myself, PD gets all these cars for free.

It's only a friendly proposal to PD. If it's going to happened - good, if it's not - not so good (at least all keep my money)

Man, is a lot of work to do for "just in case", i mind a LOT, and in the miracle case of the model deliver in PD hands you must to pass a lot of legal issues just to "see" the model in your home TV, software licenses, manufacturer licenses just for name the most important and theres a lot of sub categories.

If you want to spend some money in model cars try GTR2 of rFactor, just an idea.

👍

OP, you can hire me. I'll do it for $400 per day. Seriously (this is a good price, normally I ask between €450 and €650 per day).
Oh, and I really don't know how long it's going to take.

GT88, you claim to have your own design studio. What's the name of your company? Or is it just a Mac in a bedroom?

Only having 5 years in the industry no doubt leaves you very under-qualified to even suggest such an idea.

I think your suggestion is very sweet, but PD would never take you seriously.
