Yep, some bills were passed, but the big ones were vetoed. A mixed bag but I'll take what we can get.

How did I miss this thread? I happened to wonder into a firearms thread in the opinions sub forum and it I seem to recall it turning into an anti-gunners circle jerk.

Are we permitted to post range videos in this thread?

I have a number of interesting firearms in my ever changing collection that may interest some readers.

And from earlier in the year. Sighting in the AK's. Enjoy - I know I did. :)

Wow, that indeed did look like loads of fun. Very cool, RC. 👍

What kind of full-auto was that in the second video?

I've got my hands on two 6 millimeter hardened steel plates that withstand multiple close range hits from 7.62x54r, I'm going to round the edges, coat the plates in plastic to catch the bullet fragments and put them in a plate carrier. And ta-da! I've got a ballistic vest that will protect my torso from direct rifle fire, front and back.

Its a fun project.

I have a plate carrier and used to use SAPI plates when I was in the military. It's too tacticool for me now so it just sits in the closet and collects dust lol

Just wear it when your buddies that are still in the service come clearing your neighborhood looking for Ebola holdouts.

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2014/09/2...-russian-military-planes-55-miles-off-alaska/

6 Russian planes (2 fighter jets, 2 long range bombers and 2 refueling tankers). 50 Russian bomber interceptions over the last 5 years. These can be training missions for them or they are seeing how fast our response time is etc. Tin foil hat time.

And exactly what are the Russians (or Chinese or ISIS or Alqueerda or even UN forces for that matter) going to do when they get on the ground in the USA?

Go from house to house flushing us out?

That is a fight I would really enjoy. The US has an armed civilian population like no other on the planet - we as a county of civilians will be able to more than handle ourselves thanks.

The rest of the US does not equal Texas. I'm from Texas. I live in Ca. The people here would rather vote to eliminate the 2A and it's also legal for LE to disregard the 4A. Many other states are that way too. The last few free states can't hold down the rest of the US logistically, monetarily or in any other fashion. Also how many do you think have the real will to fight, not just over what they say on the interwebs?

I wish the Russians would invade and take over the government buildings in Chicago. You know, gun free zone after all.

If we keep electing Democrats the whole US will be a gun free zone. Then we break out in Civil War, war with Russia, China, Mexico, Middle Eastern countries and I'm sure there are more who would love to jump on the bandwagon given the opportunity. Our boys in Texas will hold us down though.

I can guarantee you won't have a civil war over gun rights. An angry population maybe but not a civil war.

But wasn't the 1st American Civil War about one sole issue? Slavery, right? It was all about freedom for blacks wasn't it? That's basically what the US History books say so it must be true. Of course, I'm being sarcastic. One issue will not start a Civil War but many will. Guns will be a biggie though. Was the American Revolutionary War about Taxation? Taxation without representation? No, there was more to it.

Back to gun stuff. Sorry for my crappy cell phone pic but this is a 9mm 124gr Federal Tactical HST +p that I shot into a 55 gallon drum of water. Nice conversation piece lol

Rural California is conservative versus urban. And I don't ever consider Kommifonia part of the USA anymore anyway - I simply assume it is Mexico's most northern state.

If society were to break down to Iraq/Afghan occupation style strife most everyone would be willing to fight in some form or another - you will have little left to lose.

Human nature is that predictable.

Understand that the right to self defense is not a privilege, but a right. The USA will spill blood if the right to self defense is quashed. Unlike other nations where self defense and access to weapons was a privilege granted by the current rulers in power and then one day arbitrarily outlawed - the right to self defense and access to weapons is acknowledged as an inalienable right, not a granted privilege.

The biggest problem with the armed population holding off a real military is organization and training. Your average Joe Blow Rural Californian or anyone for that matter does not have the know how to survive in actual conflict. No battalion organization. Under gunned as well. Ammunition as well. One guy has 5K rounds, another guy has 50 rounds and one magazine. Most people simply can't afford to be a defensive threat. Basically similar to the likes if an insurgent in say Iraq. Sometimes those boys would put a hurting on us but they lacked the training and weaponry. We had a command calling the shots. Motivation can only get you so far. Small pockets of resistance weren't much of a threat. It then becomes a battle of attrition. You can't stop insurgents but you can keep a pretty good handle on them.

My god, it got little bit crazy in here & I missed out on all the fun. @Blood Eagle I wouldn't sweat the Russian planes. I'm from Japan, and they are routinely bugging us, too. Yes, they look to test your air defense, but I'm pretty sure it's mostly posturing.

@David I saw in the American Rifleman that Remington was offering free replacement to anybody who had bought the R51 pistol. All I can say do is:
