I use the third one. There's less guestimation.
The AR is finally done and ready for some range time.

This gun is my "go-to" gun. Since the maximum distance of a range that I live even remotely near is 300 yards, I decided that a 16" rifle would be able to do everything from tin cans at 25yds to precision shooting at 300.
I wanted it to weigh less than 7.5lbs naked with a slight rear balance bias for unsupported shooting while standing. It needed to be suitable for a lefty who will fire it almost as often as I do.
Lower:
-Noveske Forged Lower - Simple and functional. The fitment between it and the upper is nice and tight
-Geissele SSA-E Two Stage Trigger - Can be thought of as half way between a combat two stage trigger and a precision two stage trigger.
-VLTOR A5 Receiver Extension/Buffer - More reliable, better recoil control, longer length of pull. What's not to like?
-VLTOR EMOD - Goes with the A5. I like my guns to be a bit rear-biased in balance. It also provides a nice cheekweld.
-ERGO Grip - Soft and I liked the subtle finger guides.
-CA Legal Bullet Button - Because CA has some of the most restrictive and most ineffective gun laws ever.
-Magpul Enhanced Aluminum Trigger Guard - Because I shoot with gloves often.
Upper:
-Noveske 16" Recon Stainless Steel Barrel - Insanely accurate barrel. Not too heavy either. The Midlength gas system should also make recoil smoother.
-VLTOR MUR-1S Upper Receiver - I didn't want the forward assist of the standard receiver or 1A model. I find it to be an outdated solution to a problem that never should have existed. The MUR is also an extremely well made receiver.
-Noveske NSR Rail - It's very light and very thin free float rail. I used it to try and balance out the slightly heavier Recon Barrel. Once some of the proprietary "KeyMod" accessories come out, I'll be all over the heat shield and polymer covers.
-Addax Phalanx Flash Suppressor - It's the bling on my rifle. I bought this instead of an A2 hider because it looks cool. Added flash suppression is an added bonus.
-LMT Bolt Carrier Group - Just a standard M16 BCG. Nice and functional
-Troy BUIS - Good sights.
Planned upgrades besides the aforementioned rail covers and heatshield.
-Rainier Ambidextrous Charging Handle - Will be released in mid June. For now I'm using a $15 standard aluminum. I seriously think I might break it.
-Optic - I'm yet to decide on the optic I want on this gun. I'm going to try the iron sights at 300yds and see how much I need magnification. My top choices are (in no particular order) Eotech XPS, Trijicon ACOG TA11 3.5X, or a variable zoom of some kind.
-Magazines - I'm going to permanently convert some Magpul PMAG 20rds into 10rd CA legal magazines. The aluminum ones rattle and are difficult to reload since I can't get a grip on them.
-DiamondBlack Ionbond Boron Carbide Coated Young Mfg National Match Bolt Carrier *whew* - I want to experiment with a coated BCG as well the National Match carrier. It seems to me that the Boron Carbide would be a good choice. At the very least it's some more shameless bling for the rifle. This is my last priority.
