i like the one with the punsiher sticker(it is a sticker right?), what rifle is that?? XM107??
I think they are laser etched or something. They sell those, and you can swap it out yourself. I think the one I wanted was a American flag with "USA" on it. Very cool on a AR.

I like the guns! What caliber is the M&P handgun?

Tomorrow is range day with my aunt. Will be shooting every 9mm glock ever made.

Typical DailyFail.

"Machine gun rounds"... yeah, or, you know, rounds for any other gun chambered in what looks like 7.62mm...

And wanting to move out because you found some live rounds in your garden? What is wrong with these people?

All hers? Sounds awesome to me. :D

Yeah. My grandpa brought a PPK in 7.65 Browning. I was like, "Wtf is this ****?" Apparently it's .32 ACP. I didn't even know they made that. We didn't want to fire it because it looks like it's from the 60s and hasn't even been fired. lol. It had a brown patina and was greasy.

We had some other guns but they all had mags full of hollow points which the range doesn't allow. So it was only glock day. I shot mainly the 17 and the 34. Had the best luck with the 17. The 34 jumped around too much, but I was probably limp-wristing a bit after I got more comfortable firing the guns. I had a FTF when I went back to the 17 after shooting the 34, so I probably was letting my wrist flex a bit too much. That or the mag was loaded poorly by noob me. I was just terrified it was a squib load, so I stopped. Indeed, it looks like the slide never went all the way back. Decide for yourself:

Sorry for the vertical video.

Here's my 5m group(s):

The ones down low belong to my grandpa's girlfriend. She kept missing her paper and hitting my target above hers. Probably flinching.

And the ride home:

Did they have the pitching range? All good ranges have one. If you encounter FTF in self-defense situation, you are supposed to pitch your Glock 17 at the attacker. My all metal 1911 would pwn your Gock 17. Probably higher percentage of FTF too though.

Awesome video. 👍

Great video but I noticed a slight problem. There seems to be a lot hand raising during recoil. Where they stout loads? There shouldn't be that much hand raise when shooting 9mm.

You might not be holding the gun with enough pressure which could explain the jam. I noticed you shoot left handed. Try this:

  • Push out forward with your left hand quite firmly
  • Wrap your right hand fingers around your left hand fingers
  • Pull inward with your right hand quite frimly to better stabilize the gun
  • Use enough strength to the point your hands start to shake and then back down a bit until they stop to shake
  • But both thumbs next to each other and point them at the target (I think you were doing this alread, but I couldn't tell)

Doing this not only will stop feeding or ejection jams, but will also allow you to shoot more accurately, less recoil and a faster second shot.

Thanks. I had my hands in the proper alignment, but I definitely wasn't squeezing the crap out of the gun.

I'm still a total noob. I had no idea grip/recoil played part(at all!) in the feeding or ejection issues. Thanks for teaching me!

P.S. You know how gangstas tilt their gat sideways? Is that helpful with this, or no?

I haven't shot very much. I've only been to a range two or three times, the first time I fired an M14 (a level of fun that is incomprehensible) and an M4 carbine. That's where I learned that I was actually really good! The other time was an indoor range with a rented Smith and Wesson M&P .22. The thing was shooting way left, but it was loads of fun.
And lastly, last December I think it was, I went hunting for the first time. In the hour and a half we spent in the woods, we only saw two little birds. I took a shot at the second one, and hit the branch it was standing, right between it's legs. I got a bit mad after that.

I'm sure the bird would prefer you aim at his other head.

It probably helps switching targets with the recoil. Have you played MGS3? :)

By the way, some of you guys call a 7,62x39 mm Kalashnikov rifle AK-47. It's a very common name, but not really correct. The name AK-47 was given to a few experimental samples only. The original AK as we know it was adopted by Soviet Army in 1949 as 7,62 mm assault rifle by Kalashnikov (AK), model 1949, or just AK. In 1959, it was modernized for easier production and weight reduction and called AKM. So, if you have a 7,62x39 AK produced after '59, I think it's more correct to call it AKM, not AK-47. If it is Soviet-made. If not, it might be called whatever the maker calls it.

Loved Metal Gear Solid, the original & the second one. Haven't played them after that!

Although you rarely see Russian AKs where I'm at, very interesting facts. 👍

Stuck my scope that came with my Crosman 66 Powermaster back on it after having it mounted on my now broken Crosman 760 Pumpmaster. Took some time to get it right but this was with a little bit of toying with it at about 30-35 feet. Pretty spot on.

This is my 66 Powermaster. Rated roughly 700 fps with a bb and 645 with a pellet. The barrel is rifled unlike the 760. The scope is a 4x15 Crosman cheapie that came with the gun but hasn't seen a lot of use as the 760 died after I put it on it several years ago. Yes I know the scope is a bit far back. It's to compensate for me poor eyesight as it doesn't adjust clarity very well.

Nice little piece of detail there 👍. Let me add to it, just for clarification purposes.

Some variants to be noted between the AK-47 and the AKM :

(A) The AKM used a receiver made of stamped steel as opposed to the AK's milled receiver. The process of using stamped parts was used to speed up the production of the AKM's
(B) The AKM used rivets instead of welds on the receiver to also aid in production time.
(C) The AKM had a weight reduction over the standard AK by approximately 2 lbs.The bolt carrier was lightened and the stocks were hollowed out as well.
(D) Both the AK and the AKM utilize the same chrome lined barrel, however the AKM barrel is pressed and pinned into the receiver as opposed to being a threaded barrel (AK) which is threaded and screwed into the receiver.
(E) The barrel of the AKM is the first in it's family to utilize a slant compensator to reduce rifle climb when being used in the automatic mode.
(F) Gas relief ports were moved forward to the to the gas block on the AKM. The AK used a gas tube.
(G) The AKM uses a 1000 meter calibrated rear sight, the AK used an 800 meter calibrated rear sight.
(H) The AKM's metal was parkerized as opposed to the AK's metal being "traditonally blued".
(I) The AKM uses a modified spring and trigger assembly for better safety. The AKM fires in automatic mode only when the bolt is fully locked. The new style trigger assembly also reduces "trigger bounce" and has a hammer release delay device to delay the release of the hammer by a few microseconds in automatic firing mode.

Here's that cutscene from MGS3, watch from 11:00. When Snake gets ambushed, Eva fires her Type 17 (Chinese automatic version of the Mauser pistol) holding it sideways, using the muzzle jump to create horizontal sweep.

In the next scene, Snake comments this technique (from 1:00).

BTW, I know AK-47 is a very common designation on the West, and the arcticle on the English Wiki is called AK-47. But if you open the Russian Wiki page, you won't see any "47" number in its name. It's called just Kalashnikov automatic rifle.
Even Russians use the AK-47 name pretty often, and not all of them know it's not really correct. The AKM is still adopted by the Russian army (I actually saw one in the military, having wooden stock and fore-end and a suppressor attached). Not produced, but still used. But the original AK (which is usually meant by AK-47) is out of production for more than 50 years already.

However, the name is not a really important thing to care about, and people are just used to call any 7,62x39 Kalashnikov rifle AK-47.
