Where can i find real life times for the real life tracks?

I want to find out if I'm faster than an F1 driver in gt3.

Hmmmm i never thought of this but now that you mention it I think it would be interesting to find out about his. On a more serious note i have no idea as to where to look other than possibly the formula 1 website (www.formula1.com i presume) or the fia website (www.fia.com i guess), anyone got any clues

You are. The real-life record for the only track in GT3 which F1 drivers use in real life (Cote d'Azur) is a 1'13. The record for GT3 is a 1'05.8, in a 1994 Williams...

Cote d'Azur isn't exactly analogoous to Monaco, but it's close enough.

Correction ;) I did a 1'06.894 "only know clean lap under 1'07 at Monaco in GT3" http://www.racing-line.org/courseselect.php?SelectedGame=GT3&SelectedCourse=05
There was a guy who did a 1'06.4 but he made wall contact in 3 places and never tired again. Back in 94' I think they were lapping in at a 1'20.500ish or close to that.

From what I know GT3's monaco is wider than the real life one and slightly different in design and rather rough in many areas. The most notable thing about the reallife F1's and GT3's is the ours are way way exaggerated in performance than a real life F1.

IMO there is NO direct comparison to a real F1 driver and a GT3 F1 driver. You can only compare each to their respective equals.

Pfft. You try making coherent posts at 6.30am when you've just been woken up by a cat pissing on your feet.

well i read an article and said somthing like PD wanted to get within 5sec of real cars on the same track with GT3. and for GT4 they want to get 1sec differance.

so thoes times on monaco ar pretty close

14 seconds? Or 20% slower? Pretty close?

Here's the kitten I'm kitten-sitting. It tried to eat the mouse, then sat on the keyboard for 2 hours...

Roughly, I know Senna did a 1'21.2xx at Monaco in 93 when he won. Could be even slower since they didnt run with Traction control, active suspension, abs..ect in 94. But yeah its at least over 14-15 seconds faster per lap.

Well even if we look at just this year, M. Schumacher only got a 1:14.439 which set the record with a far superior car to that of the 94!! The F1 cars in the game are , like 3rdgenX said, wayyyy to stable and controllable. Just try playing any of the formula one games on the computer and try doing the same stuff u do in gt3 ...ull be spinning left and right!!

Well have u ever seen when a person who hasn't driven an f1 car get in and drive it, like Flavio Briatorri??!! Well he did and he crashed it in a matter of seconds !! Its not as ez as the game portrays. Thats not to say the car is uncontrollable, im just saying the car isn't even close to being as forgiving as it is in the game is!!!

I also wanted to know about tracks like Laguna Seca. Use the exact car and try to beat the real life record!

The current fastest ever lap around Laguna seca is a 1'06.XXX"dont know the tents hundredths and thousandths" I dont know what car was used to set the record.

The best F094/s lap around Laguna Seca is a 54.6xx set by Sough.

Hehe acually 3rdgen its ok but i was at laguna seca this weekend and the 2003 ferrari f1 car was ther for the historic races and he was trying to beat the lap record which was a 1:07.764 set by Hillio Castroneves i beleive ( dunno how to spell his name)!! :) oh and it was set by the 1999 champ car

Do they factor in the weight of the driver in GT3 or is it basically driverless???

It's the weight of the car plus driver. Ballast is added and removed, strategically, should the driver fatten up/slim down over the season to ensure the car meets minimum weight requirements.

F1 cars do not race at Laguna Seca.

I know, but there are other record-holding cars that do. and some od those have to be in gt3.
There arent any Cart Cars in GT3, they hold the real Laguna track record. The F1's have made attempts at the track record in real life during the Montery Historic races but have never beaten it, the test driver was the one who was driving. It would be a different story if a real F1 driver was lapping around LS.

He meant in GT3, not in real life. As far as I know they don't factor in a driver in GT3.

No - my answer applied to both.

F1 has a minimum weight limit, which must include the driver, so they add and remove ballast. This is replicated in GT3 simply by having the car at the minimum weight limit.

Oh i forgot to mention in my previous post about when the 2003 ferrari f1 lapped around laguna seca to try the lap record set at the 1:07.7. The test driver only achived a 1:09.121 which i thought was pretty weak considering how much better the 2003 formula one car should be in comparison to the heavier and less advanced champ car. Either way it was dissapointing to see him lap a sub-par lap time!! It would have been nice to see someone like shumacher or barrachilo do it but they were at the Hungarian Grand Prix :(. But with all that said the test driver should be capable of getting the same times as the race drivers and they should know the cars limits as good as anyone ...I mean all he does is test and tweak the f1 cars for ferrari, but then again what do i know
