I'm sorry, but the Photoshopped images are just that: manipulated photographs, funny filters applied to create odd looking colour balance and such, as well as clever 'penning' or 'airbrushing' any talented CG artist could do that with a half decent graphic manipulation program.

They're not 'renders' of any kind since a render means it was actually created by the software, those were clearly originally photos (imperfections in the glass vases etc)

WTF ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? go here www.splutterfish.com and go to the gallery. I have used this program and it is a plugin for 3ds max. once you model something, you change the renderer from the default to Brazil r/s. I know what im talking about, and you obviously dont.

I am not insulting your ability to tell the difference between real or fake images and I don't really appreciate being attacked for asking a question, even if you misunderstood it. Most people could tell that that was a real image, if not by the Ferrari than just by looking at the sand coming onto the track and the rubber marks on the road.

When I asked if you checked the source of the image I meant did you get the information about the "ALMS" race from the site the image is hosted on. Your claim made it seem like you recognized that exact picture as if by seeing the race. I wanted to know if that's how you knew it was fake, because that would be an amazing exhibit of automotive and racing knowledge, or if you simply saw that it was fake and later researched it to be from the ALMS race or whatever it was.

No question, the image looks fake. And you are right, the Ferrari alone gives it away. I'm sorry for making it seem like I questioned your ability to see that it was fake, but I really don't think I deserved a :rolleyes: .

Fair enough m8, I misread your post / got it mixed up with someone else's; thought you'd said they were done in Photoshop, but you said it was done in 3DS Max. Perhaps I should check before I post next time eh?

Actually looking at that girls face (the eyes particularly) you can see that it IS a render.

That's some hell of a plugin
